I am setting up my ladder bars I was looking for a program or app that shows the Instant Center and other variables when you input data and the shows the difference when change things up.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I think it’s baseline suspension, you might not find a ladder bar application because the instant center is fixed . You can plug your measurements into a 4 link app , just put both front upper and lower as the same , it will give you your anti squat %

My old pump gas duster had 4 holes for the front mount, it liked the lowest one up scope
The best way for you to learn what your car likes and you like is to try it in all locations scope wrench uptwocents

instant Center on a ladder bar is fixed, you can raise or lower it , but thats it

Raising or lower the front mount will change the height of the IC and the antisquat (Amount of Rise)

Kevin Wilson has some good youtube video of this, search it on YouTube

http://performancetrends.com/4link.htm performance trends make a good program, it will do 4-link and ladder bar suspensions, I have used it for many years. It will also allow you to put the suspension in movement and see what happens as well.

You can't pin point I/C unless you know the exact C.G point . Otherwise it's only a guess. You can get a pretty good idea if you video the car. If if separates you are above the C.G.. If it squats (very unlikely with ladder bars) it's below the C.G. The more power you run. The lower you mount the front of the bar. Weight distribution, ride height, wheelbase, power level, SLR, tire type, track prep style all play into it. Need more info.

I don't much care about IC. I pay attention to angles, heights, spreads, I will plot IC just as a piece of information that I can use. It is a result, not a setting for me.

That said, it can give you an idea of where you are going if you want to compare different geometries and settings. But it's the geometry that determines what happens.

As far as something or someone telling you where to put the bars, all anyone can do is give you a general starting point. 48" out - 7" up with the bottom bar level to 1* down. There you go.

Where to go from there depends on your video and what you want the car to do differently. Don't forget to use the shocks while sorting it all out.

Ladder bars are easier. Lower is less violent, higher is more violent. Use a good shock to control the separation.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

My old Duster 60 ft. times got better after me swapping out the single adjustable (extension only) coil over to double adjustable up scope
