Well, I've banged my head a few times (insert wisecrack here), but never felt it in a hip. FWIW, I have a hip replacement coming soon too, soon as I can get cleared. True about the back glass area Charger-vs-300, though; forgot about that. (Like I said, banged my head... )

Does anyone know if the 2006 Charger and the chrysler 300 drivers door openings are the same height? As much fun as the charger is I keep banging the top of my head getting in and out. OUCH!! They are the same. In terms of modern cars the LX series are the best I've experienced in regard to banging heads. The biggest Cadillac, DTS, Buick twin Lucerne, extinct since 2011 is much worse. The CTS, XTS (and lesser clones) for sure are worse yet. The XTS, LaCrosse, Impala, you'll bump your shoulder getting into. For us old farts I think pickups are the best bet in this regard. You're welcome to try out my 300 if you'd like. Almost forgot, the Durango is about the same as the 300. I make sure the seat is at the bottom of it's travel before getting in, helps a bit.

Pickup or a good size SUV like a Jeep/ Durango , wife just traded my 2019 Jeep GC for a VW Altas cross sport , it's bigger than the jeep.
running up my post count some more .

i just had my hip replaced in april, and it's amazing how one feels with out pain 24/7. i was in early in the morning, and out that afternoon, after showing the nurses my mastery of the walker. home nurse and therapy guy for a month, and started real therapy after memorial day. that lasted until a couple of days after the fourth of july. i can walk better now than i could in years, and i'm constantly reminded i should have done this sooner. and they are right ! i was stupid to wait. it got to the point i could hardly walk, so i finally got it done. don't be a bonehead like me ! get it done. you will be glad you did ! i need a new knee now, so it looks like the quickest i can get that done is in, or around, march of next year.

My father has trouble entering and exiting vehicles. We found a minivan was the best option for him. The door opening is large enough. The seat height is just about perfect. It is higher than a car, but lower than a truck.
We got a Toyota van for one reason. Everyone in my family is tall. The second row seats in the 2012+ Sienna are mounted on tracks that allow the seats to be moved fore and aft. My father has trouble bending his knees, so being able to move the seats back provides him with sufficient leg room. Those Sienna's have the most second row leg room of ANY modern vehicle we found. (Car, van or pick-up truck!)
On the negative side, the front row seats in the Sienna are a bit cramped for tall folks. (The front passenger side seat is the worst.) I am interested in getting the front seats moved back.
Dad sat in a Town and Country and a Pacifica before we looked at the Toyota. He was OK in the front seat on both of those vans. Unfortunately, with the front seats all the way back, he did not have enough leg room on the second row seats. So, that is the reason we bought the Toyota.
