OK, let's hear some remedies to remove powder coating fast from sheetmetal, sandblasting and mechanical sanding are not viable alternatives at this moment.....?

Thanks

All you have left is chemical stripper and burn off and the latter would be fast but risky

Permatex Decal Remover will strip it in a heartbeat. Paint strippers - even the [censored] for airplanes - doesn't work very well.

Just wait.. couple years your powder coat will be pulling in sheets. No extra work needed. I see this all the time

I can get hardware store strippers to work sorta. I stripped down a bike frame and fork with it a few years ago. I sanded the top coat with some sand paper and then put the stripper on as just putting it on initially wasn't going anywhere. Still took two passes and some steel brush work to get it broken down. Benzo (?) is what powder coat places use, but apparently that stuff is $$$.

Sheetmetal could be risky to "sandblast" - I don't know which media would be best.
I've been told that it can be painted over, with some scuffing & cleaning, if that would work for you.

I have a set of steel wheels that are rusting through their powdercoat, even though they started as clean and blasted wheels.
I haven't decided on a course of action, but they're not a high priority at the moment.
Nevertheless, I'm curious and that decal remover might be the hot tip.

I hope you didn't go and buy the stuff yet ... I just went out to the shop to double check and its the Permatex "gasket remover" you want, not the decal remover.

I tried to remove it one time and nothing, finally I took it to a powder coater and they used heat in the process. I think they hot it hot in the baking oven and then blasted, or scraped it off.

A large operation would do it that way. Some also have tanks of some really wicked stuff. When we raced Karts we'd have them re-done every year. But sometimes what you want to do isn't worth the time a fuel to take your stuff to one of those shops and then go back a couple days later to pick up, not to mention the cost.. The gasket remover works awesome for the backyard job !!
