Tail light bezels for 1966 Satellite specifically.

Is there a way to differentiate between the better repop parts versus supposed NOS ??

Seems to be a lot of NOS tail light bezels avail in recent times

Depends..Can the repop guys get crisp lines as original? I would prefer NOS on lens. During a conversation with a gent (a trim guy) who worked on the assembly line in the 60s-70s he said any parts with a flaw went over to the ‘NOS’ box. Also said if the right part was not in the tray, what was available on the tray went on the car. Case in point my 66 Belvedere II came off the assembly line with Belvedere I lenses, no chrome pieces, it’s going back the way it came. My NOS lens look perfect.

I wouldn't think that more than 1 company is making those bezels, being a limited market.
Whether there are different grades that different vendors get, could be possible.

RE: assembly vs replacement parts - I've heard a few times that stuff that fell short as an assembly-line part became dealer parts inventory.
Don't know if that's actually true, but I've seen less-than-perfect dealer parts through the years.

If in the 70-80's you ordered say a trim pc. from a dealer & waited for it to come in.
When going to pick up you noticed some inperfections & said no, order another or didn't pay.
Dealer would likely just throw in his parts shelves & not return to chrysler.
Later you had guys traveling country buying old/nos stock from dealers.
Classic was Downer (NJ) & was it Jim's (Howell NJ)?

I find a good portion of the NOS parts mean Nasty Old Sh_t...

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.
