For those in attendance at this year’s Chrysler Carlisle event…

What are your thoughts on the show thus far?

Any majors purchases or inventory sell offs?

Favorite Mopar(s) on display?

Yesterday the weather was great. The car corral was almost non existent and prices were what they were( higher side), show field good turn out, my good story so far-- first time I've been to a show at Carlisle and saw a man dressed as a woman, hunting the swap meet.

The parts selection gets worse and prices get higher, even the food price went up. But I can understand that. Nice breeze all day, warm but pleasant.

Great weather on Friday (see pic from on top of the hill). Not bad weather at all on Saturday except for a little rain. Paul Rossi made my buddy Ed Gomez's day (see pic). Claudia (Miss DC) and Christy Lee were great hosts. I have not been to Carlisle for a few decades, so parts seemed to be quite expensive. Repro parts were plentiful. The hobby has certainly changed. But everyone seemed to be having a good time, which is what really matters.

I forgot to mention my hunt for a Holley 6193 was unsuccessful. But seeing a lot of people I haven't seen in decades was great and made a lot of new friends was just as great.

Good morning everybody coffeeThat superbird wing was the blue one with a white sticker on it,pretty cool! The guy selling it had a nice super bird.We really didn't follow Paul Rossi like Dick Landy,Bill Maverick Golden but he seemed like a nice guy.My wife and I are a little older so the heat and his take a toll on us!lolThe cars in buildin T were really cool! There was a black blown 71 cuda a nice blue superbird and a beautiful silver imperial,my wife really liked it.It was a nice turnout not as packed as in the past .But everyone was having a great time!

My wife liked a yellow prowler with a stuffed puma the best.I like the Sox and Matin cuda the best.We both got a kick out of a 2017 phildelphia flyers gritty inspired orange and black ram truck.

Weather was great on Friday. 2/3 of the show cars appeared to be newer stuff. Sales for parts didn`t look too brisk but seemed ok. Traffic wan`t bad in and out of the show. Seen much worse in past years. Rain and cloudy off and on for a few hours Saturday. The attendance at the South Mountain race track was poor..

Old cars way outnumber new cars, no clue why the opposite keeps getting said. You can just look at the show field and see what percentage they take up. I spoke to multiple vendors who were VERY pleased with customer engagement. Seems people were happy. I saw a few cars flip quick between Wednesday and Friday AM. We were doing setup on Wednesday and constantly walked around looking for something to buy that we shouldn't purchase. I picked up quite a few things for museum, my nephews got parts and we sold our Son Runners. Weather was manageable compared to past years. A small rain shower hit on Saturday during the event and then later when we were loading.

Had a great time as always and looking forward to it next year. It is the best all mopar event in the country, it's not close.

Going to strongly disagree. Its just not true. While the showing is very strong, to say the old way outnumber the new is just not true. So, the same area of the infield, center, has always been the "old" cars. The area next to it, above it, and before it, is flooded with the more modern 80s up cars and trucks. Not trying to start anything petty with you or anyone else, but have been attending this show since 94. Theres an equal amount of modern if not more than the classics.

Not trying to push anyone's buttons, but I guess a great bit of disagreement on this topic might depend on where you draw the line between "old" and "new". For most of us, that line is with the "new" Challenger and the "new" Charger release in the early 2,000s era. Everything before those hit the roads, are for the most part considered "old". If you set the date between old and new at 1980, then there would be more new stuff at a lot of shows.
I have buddies the distinguish the differences between old and new at Jan, 1949. They have been complaining about new cars at shows for a very long time. Where a person draws that line becomes pretty important. shruggy Gene

Wife and I had a great time. Not hunting for parts this year some just browsed the swap meet and show field and hung out behind our Daytona clone. Weather was great, thought the show field attendance was a bit light on Friday but Saturday it seemed packed most of the day.

My Dad always told me, when setting goals " avoid disappointment, aim low".
