I put it in a gutted reproduction case. Just let me down after 2 years, 2 months. It started the car, I drove steady for 40 minutes and checked the volt gauge several times, 14 volts. Gassed up, car would not start. Got a jump, drove the 35 miles back home., voltage is 12.4. Will start the car, but didn’t at the gas station.
Has anyone tried a Dyna Batt or Antigravity battery? I hesitant to shell out another $240 for one of these.

That’s a bummer, my odyssey has been the best battery I’ve ever had so far, but only for about 9 months. Cranked better after all winter without a charge than many have done sitting a month. First one I’ve tried.

Mopar action had an article on lithium batteries. Maybe xs brand?? I’d like to try one next time. Hope it’s more than a year away…

Well, that sucks. I'm going on 11 years with the Odyssey battery in one of my cars, and I've let it sit for months on end in storage without a trickle charger on it. It's a PC1200 with the metal case. Still tests and cranks good. I'm sure I'm on borrowed time.

Looks like that battery has a 3 year warranty. Why not warranty it out?

Checking it out this morning, and I think my VR may not be doing it’s job, it only goes into a charge mode at about 1500 rpm and then only goes to about 12,8 to 13v. What’s the go-to regulator these days? 1970 440. Alternator is a 9 month old power master, so I’m willing to slap a new regulator on it at this point.

What’s a good regulator?

I will attempt that once I determine it’s really the Batt….now I’m thinking VR.

I was able to get 7-8 years out of my first one. Second one lasted only about 5 years. I am on my 3rd year now on the third.

I just run a Standard VR125, but after looking at Odyssey's requirements, maybe this one

Mine has lived fine on about 13.4. It might’ve said it wants higher, I don’t remember off the top of my head. Maybe mine won’t last with the old mechanical reg. I had an electronic but it died in 100 miles. Last time I needed the later electronic reg I pulled one ancient from the parts pile. Newer one failed quickly.

Could the battery from being inside of another case might have over heated it and reduced it's life expectancy?

For those tiny batteries you need have voltage above 12.6 for it to have any power. CCA drops significantly as voltage drops below that. So when you only have the advertised 330CCA you don't have much to lose.
