I've always used Lubriplate 105 as an assembly lube. But I bought a tub of this stuff for an automatic transmission and the label says it's good for engine assembly also. From first impressions I like it better than the 105 as it seems to be 'stickier" and yet just a slippery. Has anyone tried this for an engine assembly?

Does your tranny or motor run on this stuff?
If not, why not use the lubricant it uses to assemble them work
I do, motor oil in the engine's bearings and crankshafts, oil on the piston skirts and rings cam lube on flat tappet cams and lifters upscope
I use the proper ATF in the tranny to assemble them also: wrench:
I do prime the oil pump with the spark plugs out and spin the motor over several times on the starter while priming it before firing all my new motors wrench up

GM EOS. The old stuff. For bearings and valve train.. I've even used it in transmissions. Oil on pistons and rings, sparingly. Not dunking them in oil. Pre-lube well before start up with an oil pump driver.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.
