We can get 91 octane non-ethanol fuel ( pricey).

That absorbs less water than E10 doesn't it ? Isn't that the main benefit of Stabil ?

Gasoline can still get "old" though, does Stabil help prevent varnish formation ?

If it will be more than a few months then I’d still add it. You could run the regular version instead of the stabil 360. I’ll venture a guess pure gas will last a very long time, but for the few bucks I wouldn’t risk having to deal with it. Also if you decide later to add it because you aren’t driving as much as you plan or have a breakdown that keep it off the road a spell, the gas will have already gone downhill somewhat.

Seafoam. I wouldn't use Stabil in my lawnmower, any flavor.

Pure gas without ethanol will not absorb or combine with water at all.

Fill a glass jar with gas then add some water.

After it all settles the water will be on the bottom of the jar obviously separated from the fuel.

If you store gas air tight in a full container or tank, and empty the carb of fuel, it will store just fine for a long time.

What about water contamination from condensation and humidity?

I’ve been using stabil for decades. Never had a carb gum up, not once. Small power. Cars. Not ever. Now people that I’ve told how to stop their carb issues and response to use it on the other hand…many. Put the proper amount in, use it no longer than two years and you’ll be fine. Use old product or fail to add fresh treated gas within two years, sure I’ll bet you have issues.

The stabil 360 is the ticket these days since it can cope with ethanol

Used Stabil in my mopars for over 25 years - no problems BUT...

Always made sure I mixed with a full tank before storage - noting the mixing guidelines on the bottle instructions
Always made sure I burned up almost all of that tank in the spring before adding new gas

My brother on the other hand....

Kept mixing Stabil in his 4-wheeler every fall - until it wouldn't start
The shop drained the gas and it was a red gooey mess - he never burned through the entire tank and kept adding Stabil for years until it there was way too much in the "mix"

that may have been the cause of the gooey mess i had to clean up, although it was more of a brownish shade than red.
the car had not been driven in many years, and all i knew about the storage during that time, was stabil was in the tank.
