My 68 convertible has 3. Did that change in 69?

My 68 only has 2 and the seat cover pattern is aligned to 2. With the convertible side panels, 3 would be pretty tight fit.

Here it is. Longer bolts and spacers in the center for the double belts. PG Classics reproduction belts also come with three for the rear. shruggy

Probably related to a Govt regulation that may have changed.
The law was a seat belt for every position, but it could be at some point convertible rear seat occupancy was changed.
That would save Chrysler a few bucks per convertible, and Chrysler was all about saving $$$.
Typically new safety regs in that era were effective Jan 1st, so that can muddy what years got that stuff included as standard.

Well you learn something every day. This is from a 1968 sales brochure. Could only find Canada at the moment.
Looks like 2 lap belts front and 2 rear are standard.
My hardtop is a 69, so always assumed my 68 convertible with 2 was just because of the narrower seat (buckets in front).

1968 Looks like center lap belt was optional.

1969 Not as clear cut as the 68 book. Looks like 3 for the rear but what do the C13 and C14 mean?

C14 is rear seat shoulder belts. Very rare option. They are mounted to the package tray area.

C13 is front seat shoulder belts on a Convertible. Even more rare option. Not sure how they mount, maybe between upper and lower rear seat cushions?? There is a Pilot 67 Hemi Satellite Convertible with that option. Super LONG belts.

Sorry to hijack the original question. But I did learn something from it.

My 2 rear belts on my 68 convertible were found under the seat and wrapped in plastic, pretty much preserved perfectly. Wish the fronts were remotely as good.

More pics of a 69 Charger showing the attachment bracket that's added under the package tray for rear shoulder belts.

Thanks! That's what I thought it meant but shoulder straps on a convertible threw me. Never heard of that before. Newer cars have the seat belts mounted to the seats...not the body. It would be interesting to see how they mount on a Dart/Barracuda.

Thanks to al of you up bow
It seems that you could order three in the rear and it looks like two was the standard, shruggy Maybe it varied on what part of the year it was and which factory assemble the cars confused
I have another question about the stock door panels, were the GT and GTS door panels the same?
If not do any of you know who sells the replacement GTS door panels help
Someone had switched my cars stock panels to a set of 1967 GT black panels and removed the GTS interior emblems, why I do not know shruggy
My car was originally F7 green exterior and interior, it is now Hemi orange with white Legendary GTS seat covers.
if it doesn't sell soon, I may start restoring it back to stock paint and interior, if I can find the proper door luck: help:: work:

1969 GT and GTS door panels are same

1968 GT and GTS door panels are same BUT the chrome inserts above the arm rest are scripted GT or GTS accordingly . But have same basic outside dimensions.

F7 was not available in 1969, may be F5 or F8, picture of fender tag? GTS and GT door panels are the same for 1969, the GT SPORT emblems were on the metal upper door frame and are now being reproduced for $295/pair.
