Have one in a 400. Ordered it with the light weight crank option. Spins up quick. Gobs of torque. No problems whatsoever after four years of driver duty.

Have a 400/512. Many street miles and 1/8 passes last six years. No problem.

We've used a lot of them over the years. The 440Source kits are a very good deal if they have exactly what you want. If you want a different compression ratio then you might need to mix and match parts. If you're building a race engine then you might want to use different parts. All depends what your needs are. Sometimes we use Molnar cranks, sometimes SCAT. Just depends what the customer's needs are and how big his budget is.

I've known a few guys that used them. Good parts, good price, usually in stock. Those 3 things put them ahead of most everybody. Their website is fantastic. I wouldn't call anyone else if I was looking for a B/RB stroker kit.

The only question I have is about future parts. I hurt a piston once a few years ago with my Ohio Crank kit. I called them and had the piston in a week or so. Should a bad thing happen and you needed a part (or two) would the individual parts be available?

Master, again and still

I think parts would be available...I have a couple of friends using the Source kit...Both are very happy. Just have everything checked by a machine shop. Always a good idea with any engine rebuild no matter whose parts you are using. Good luck! up

The end is near.....

Yes, and then have another machine shop check their work 'cause, well, ya never know !! And if you wear a belt, make sure you're wearing suspenders too !!

Seriously, at what point do you actually trust someone.

There have been people in the past not trusting the balancing job. My question is this: do you think a machine shop will go to all the trouble of checking the balance and charging you a couple hundred bucks and then tell you there was no problem with it? Of course not 'cause you'd whine about the cost. Just remember, "the customer is always right" - you take something in because you think it might be out of whack - guaranteed, its gonna be out of whack !!

I met and got to know Brandon years ago at the Mopar swap meet and car show "Spring Fling" in San Fernando, CA before he started and opened 440 Source, I sold him a bunch of stock 440 intake manifolds and water pump housing, rocker arm covers and so on.
He was a innovator and of course upset some of his competitors by starting and making his company successful bow up

Used 4 stroker kits from them. They are decent kits and affordable.
I think, it would be hard to find a better kit at their price?
Only real issue I had was on the first kit I got many years ago that had the "I"-beam rods, and it was only one rod had the notch for the rod bearing machined a bit off.
I checked the balance of the last kit and found that worst case the balance would be 3 grams (For comparison, a sheet of printer paper is 4 grams) from their calculated bob weight.
By matching the slight weight differences of rod ends, pistons and pins, (best case without having to remove material for balancing), I was within less than 0.5 gram of the listed bob weight the crank was balanced too.
Because everything is new, and has never been assembled before, you should double check everything with any stroker kit.
On the 500" low deck stroker engine (uses the oil ring support rail because the piston pin goes through the oil ring land) the ICON pistons had a slight burr where the pin hole was machined, and needed to be removed for the oil ring support to sit flat in the groove.
The Light Weight 4.25" crank for the 512 kit looked really nice. Not sure if it mattered performance wise in the mild 600 HP engine it went into?
I haven't had any problems with Main or Rod bearing clearances, but they are slightly tighter than some recommend for a race engine?, around 0.0020" rods and 0.0025" mains
Sometimes the rod pin bushings can seem tight, but often it is just the edge of the bushing may have a small ding from how the rods are shipped in the box.

440 Source is a loyal Mopar supporter..
Some of his products such as cranks, stroker kits, heads are priced aggressively..
His major challenge is delivering quality products, but sourcing from China and not having your own on-site, outgoing inspection and factory auditing capability raises certain risks... eek
China factories have a tendency to use the cheapest recycled metal materials frequently resulting in inferior end product quality... I have been sourcing various products from China for many years and the only way to guarantee final quality is to qualify the source factory and have a stringent outgoing inspection process to make sure the product being shipped is equal to and/or better than the submitted buyer prototype samples...
If one reads the various Mopar forums, U will find multiple cases of good and not-so-good end results. So here the buyer should be aware.. cool

Just my $0.02... wink

I find this statement hilarious. Left to their own devices most companies will do this - regardless of which country they're in. Many years ago when there was a huge focus on "quality", the guru of quality at the time defined "quality" as being "conformance to requirements". And if you think about it, its exactly that. A Ford Focus built conforming to Ford's requirements is as "quality" as a Rolls Royce (perhaps better). So the quality of a product out of China is dependent on the customer providing sufficient specifications such that the end result conforms to the requirements that result in a quality product. Remember that MANY of the products imported from China are built to the specs provided by the American client.
