Well, I'm putting it together - just confirmed this today. Coming to the big screen in Milford, MI. We have not confirmed the date yet, but I'm shooting for this month. This will be a private screening, not publicly advertised. I need an approx. head count, so please respond if you can come. I'm going to shoot for a Saturday afternoon or evening.

Shoot, everyone probably has a copy on each format......

But, it's just not the same seeing/hearing it in a theater.

The Blues Brothers was shown in select theaters for the movie's 40th anniversary and luckily a theatre close to me was one of the selected. I've seen the movie probably literally 100's of times, but in a theatre was a whole 'nother experience. shock drive

I'll come to the VP showing if someone can give me a ride.......... pity

totally agree. watching movies in the theater is a much different experience than watching at home.

last weekend i watched smokey and the bandit in the theater, i have seen this movie a LOT but never in the theater. i saw the wizard of oz yesterday. cost a few $$ but it was worth it.
the Marcus theaters is are me. they are also established in several states. they have been showing classic movies for years. they are thru Fathom Events. it could be worth your time to check the upcoming movies listings if you like movies.

i do like movies in the theater but i don't like them enough to drive to MI to watch one.

perception is 90% of reality

Same here. Never had the opportunity to see it in a theater. I'd love to hear more about it.

Great idea. I would be interested to know exactly what they will be playing and how? Could it be the original "film"? And they can get it and have the original equipment to actually show it?

Or something else?

Nope - not available. Certainly not the EU version with Charlotte Rampling - just the one we've all come to know & love.

There was a DVD a number of years back that included the deleted scenes. I have it around here somewhere, haven't watched it recently.

You are right - the deleted scene was shown separately, but not included in the movie itself. Very strange & left the viewer to speculate as to who Charlotte Rampling actually was. Was she the angel of death? *Anyway, looks like this is moving forward & the date is going to be Saturday 6/18 around noon. I'm meeting with the theater manager tomorrow & we are going to check out the video & audio quality, & go over other details. STAY TUNED - I will give another update probably tomorrow.

My DVD copy is two sided. US version on one side, UK version on the other.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - IT'S ON!

It's going to be next Saturday at NOON - June 18th. *This is going to be a "private" screening, so the theater is not going to promote it. I went over this evening & we ran about 15 minutes of the movie & it looks great & sounds great. It's going to be $10.00 per person. Sorry, no discount for kids.

NOTE: Seating capacity of the theater is basically 100 people, & I have NO real idea just how many people are going to show up. I have already had local people contact me asking when it is going to be - I don't even know how they found me so fast. Anyway, there is no way to sell seats in advance, so first-come, first served. Bring a cool ride if the weather is nice - I'm bringing my Challenger - what else?

Showing At:

Milford Cinema
945 E Summit St.
Milford, MI. 48381
Phone: (248) 529-6774

Well, ALL the local Detroit area Moparts people missed it today. I guess when people talk about REALLY wanting to see this movie at the theater, they don't really ever intend to. It was great. Very low turnout though - I'm not surprised.
