Especially 'Warning'. Yeah, I know it's a cover, one of the very few they did, but they really own it.

Sgt Pepper's and Dark Side Of The Moon also on this date, in '67 and '73 respectively.
More significant IMO, though I'm not a Metal guy.
Love me some Punk & Post-punk bands, though.

Both of those albums are, of course, GREAT! I love them, too. But they are not more significant than the first Black Sabbath album, which created a genre of music that is still in force to this day. Neither the Beatles nor Floyd did that. And Sabbath lasted decades longer with new albums and sold out concerts than both of them combined. So, they are great, but not even close in significance.

And Ozzy likes the Beatles, too; "Opening up about The Beatles’ impact in a 2016 interview, Osbourne explained that the group’s 1964 hit ‘She Loves You’ completely changed the game: “I come from the backstreets of Aston in Birmingham and it wasn’t a very cool place when I was growing up,” the singer began. “I used to sit on my doorstep and think, ‘How the hell am I going to get out of here?’ And then one day ‘She Loves You’ came on the radio.”

Unless you were actually there, it’s hard to imagine just how explosive the Beatles’ sound was in the early ’60s. The group’s blend of radio-friendly rock ‘n’ roll had been bubbling under the surface for a while. With traces of music hall, skiffle, and blues, tracks like ‘She Loves You’ heralded the arrival of a new era. “That song turned my head around,” Osbourne continued. “My son always says to me, ‘What was it like when The Beatles happened?’ All I can really say to him to is: ‘Imagine going to bed in one world, and then waking up in another that’s so different and exciting that it makes you feel glad to be alive
.”

The first album I ever bought was Black Sabbath’s’The Mob Rules’ by Warner Brothers. Loved it so much. my friend gave me an un-opened album he had in his stash when they were phasing out albums to cassette tapes at the local albums shop. That album replaced the one the got sold at a garage sale and still have not opened it in 10 years.

I'm more of a fan of the album 'Paranoid' but that's just me. Of course I like Uriah Heep and Ted Nugent also.

Good to see some Sabbath fans here! I have all the albums and enjoy all of them but my top two would be Sabotage and Master of Reality.

Been listening to lots of Sabbath and Ozzy lately, I truly think we're missing another metal era. Metal is popular when people are pizzed off due to world circumstances, that is now. You have 2 generations that dont even know what metal is. that would love it.

Paranoid certainly has more radio friendly tracks not the least of which are Paranoid and Iron Man. And War Pigs has been called the best rock concert opening song of all time. And I agree. Air raid sirens wailing, red lights flashing like bomb bursts, search lights reaching towards the sky................and then the first notes of the song. Man, that still runs chills up my spine.

Did I mention Electric Funeral and The Wizard? Just too much great stuff to list.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

Saw them at a OZZFEST during daytime, nothing like inside an arena with it dark. Crazy good.

I saw this on YT and the 1:35 with the karaoke monitors for ozzy, Oooooffffff. Pretty rough period for Ozzy but the guy was an animal frontman when on his game.

Sabbath back in the early 70 was ground breaking. What happened to music? This garbage they play on the radio now is pathetic! Now they give awards to people who use auto tune and drum machine. realcrazy

You need a different radio station. There is some really cool rock out there. May not be Black Sabbath, but it is cool. Ghost, Volbeat, Seether, Godsmack, Royal Blood, Korn, Halestorm, Papa Roach, Greta Van Flee, Ayron Jones, Black Keys, Shinedown, Badflower and many more. Check out some of these bands that are on the radio currently. They really rock!

Sabbath was a bit before my time BUT all you need is to hear a couple of their songs cranked, and you know THAT'S what rock was all about. Queen, The Who, Pink Floyd, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, are timeless!

Facts are stubborn things.

The UK version was released on 2/13/70...Friday the 13th. It featured another cover, "Evil Woman" by the Minneapolis band Crow.

Love Black Sabbath!!! Geezer Butler and Bill Ward's rhythm behind Tony's thunderous lead guitar riffs, is gutteral and mesmerizing. So many great songs to list, but off the first record I like, Warning/Black Sabbath/The Wizard. The last album "Never Say Die" just before Ozzy's departure....listen to "Johnny Blade"...it's wicked!!! Same with "Soopernaut" on Volume 4 devil
