And cross a DRJTBC toll bridge, be aware. Their rates changed this year, quite substantially if you pay cash. https://www.drjtbc.org/newtollsIf you tow and use EZPass you may not notice they are overcharging you when towing. This occurred twice to me in the past two months. Just got the last one settled and again occurred last week. I have a ’96 1500 Ram and regular tow a 2 axle travel trailer (not a 5th wheel). I purposely go through the lanes with an attendant as I had errors on the high speed lanes in many tolls. They are charging me as a Class 2 and up vehicle with trailer, so $18 instead of the correct $3.25. The Ram is under 8 feet tall, which also factors into the charge. I just got my dispute settled from Memorial Day and this past week it occurred again on my next trip. This past time I stopped and said to the attendant “Class 1” when I got to the booth and she shook her head yes. And yet I was charged $18 again. Figured I would pass along for anyone else that may not know or understand the changes and could be overcharged.

the latest scam from penndot is to TOLL several bridges on I-80 and bridges crossing over I-80. [and of COURSE i use these bridges almost every week now, and i used them DAILY when i drove to work] supposedly, this is to generate the money needed to "upkeep" those bridges, and to fund "new bridge" construction. this will be done by installing cameras to capture tag numbers, then send you a "bill", which of course, will have some "administrative costs" added on. what the devil are we paying the state motor fuel tax for ????? Welcome to our world. They've been doing it here for a decade or more, can't remember. If you're not familiar with the roads or signs, it's really easy to wind up on a toll road. Some of them have "demand" pricing, it's goes from "are you kidding" to the stratosphere. No toll tag and they'll mail it to you, it may take them a couple of years but they'll get around to it. YES, that happened to me, TWO years later.

Reviving old post as it still applies. Just towed over the I78 bridge from NJ to PA and was charged $18 instead of $3.25. And I made eye contact with the toll taker and said "Class 1"? He just had a blank stare. The electronic sign just said "Paid", so could not tell until my app updated. I sent a feedback again to the toll authority voicing my issue and said this is bordering on a scam situation as I am sure not everyone knows the correct rates and are being overcharged.
To my surprise they called me today and said "they have been working on this for a while now". By a while, it has to be at least 3 years that I noticed. I asked him how many people are paying this over the years and not knowing to check their statement and your toll rates, he had no comment. He said to take down my tag and pay cash, but then I lose out, as cash charges more.
Since my truck is fine solo, I think it is their height reader that is picking up my trailer and charging me for the larger size vehicle. The rates change for vehicles >8 feet tall, but says nothing about the trailer height, just axles.

All of the San Francisco bay bridges charge a toll going toward the peninsula so we almost never take a bridge going (lots of trips this year to Redwood City for doctor appointments for my wife), but sometimes will leaving...
I have also mapped out a few different trips to other states and many of them state there are tolls, but never tall you where the tolls are. Are there any trip/map/travel sites that will show alternate routes without tolls? Google Maps will do that for you, free IF you or your wife has a smart phone.
