Can someone post a picture or two of their power steering pump brackets for a Saginaw PS pump on a 70 or later small block.
I am dealing with a very slight misalignment of the PS pump to the crank pulley on my 72 Challenger with a 340. If I put a straight edge along the PS pulley to the crank pulley, seems I am off about an 1/8-inch. Wondering If I am missing a washer some place or a bracket is slightly bent. In looking at my set up, I think everything is right, but I do notice some side-to-side movement on the pivot bolt that runs through the spacer, but only if the bolt is loose. It's like everything somewhat aligns loose, but when you tighten it up, the pump seems to skew the belt alignment just a bit. Below is a pic I found off the Mancini website showing what I have minus the alignment issue.

Post some pics of yours. Are you sure the pulleys are correct?

have some pictures... Standard Sag pump with the non-windowed or solid pulley. The offset has been this way for a long time, so it will run, just not right. It came up again as I replaced the belts on the car.

If you want to improve the alignment try loosening up the triangle bracket bolts (the bracket to the block or chain cover) then move it up in your situation then tighten them. Then try different sequences of tightening the adjustment bolts.

I have used Grade 8 washers to shim my pump forward to align the pulleys. I also shimmed the water pump pulley forward using water pump pulley shims from Hughes.

Also wanted to add that v-belts will tolerate a certain amount of mis-alignement. The amount depends on a few variable's with length between pulleys being one. here is a good read GATES BELT ALIGNMENT INFO

I had this same exact issue on my BB so the solution may be a little different. I put a washer between the pump bracket and water pump and it straightened it out really well. Had to do this in 2 locations, on the pivot bolt and on the adjusting bolt.
