I've posted pics of my 92 ctd in the past, so heres a few of dads 89 Sno-Commander. He still likes his "in the day rims". Paint is mostly original, it is due for a touch-up this year.

It would cool to find a set of those 8 lug rims.

Gratuitous engine shot.

I just wish it looked half as good as some of the iron here!

But, it's what I've got...

I'd leave the paint for a while & do fat & skinny with those hubcaps & ride the bugs & gremlins out before paint. Do you have discs on it yet?. I'm wanting to build one like it only with a 354 Hemi Kinda a cross between the the truck my Dad drove & the one he drove to make his living. With JR's upgrades of course.

It actually needs more than just paint; there's some hurt in the floor on the passenger side, and the bottom of the driver's door is going 'swiss cheese'.

But, apart from that, it's not that bad.

I'm thinking pizza cutters, pie crusts, an original blue (like what's under the hood) repaint with mild pinstriping, and a sixties-style signage painted on the doors (like a shop truck).

And right now, it just has stock 11" drums. But they work okay. They have maybe 2K miles on a complete rebuild; stop the truck pretty well.

FWIW, I've got three sets of calipers, and one set of discs; scrounging parts for a brake swap. But a replacement for that keyed axle rear end comes first.

I think that an early hemi would be a better choice than my big block. Unfortunately, I didn't have one when I started putting the truck together, and got deep into the project before I ran across a 331.

BTW, there were Dodge trucks with the larger (chrysler) hemis that had "Dodge" scripted valve covers. I think 1.5T and up That would be the BOMB...

Pretty sure the factory never put a Chrysler hemi in a dodge but if I remember their industrial was a 310hp 325ci 4bbl that was a serious powerplant! Had one about 15 years ago I was gonna put in a Jeep willy's but wife #1 made me get rid of them. If it weren't for ex's I'd be a millionare now...

I bear to differ on that. My Dad had a 48 model 1/2 ton with a flathead six. I rode in this when I was a kid. My uncle bought when my Dad passed. One of the many JobRated Trucks that He used to haul MOPAR cars to dealers from the factories. The 1st V8 one had a 331 Hemi. The 55 that He bought new had a 354 Hemi. I have pics. My Dad was a camera nut so I have B&W dated pics. I have a pic of that truck with the car that I would eventually come home from the hospital when I was born sitting on top in the front with him standing in front of it & the factory is in the background. December 23rd 1955. I still own the car. A 1956 Tri-Color Coronet Royal. When I was born He came off the road He sold the 1st V8 one & the 354 truck He spotted trailers in his spare time & uesd it to pull stumps. Eventually it was sold & being a kid I couldn't keep up with it. I have pics, when I get to them I'll scan a bunch of them. I have a bunch of photos from the factories in Detroit & Delaware too.
