Anyone have any experience with this box? https://catalog.larescorp.com/part/11033/ I am just curious to fitment and if it was a direct bolt on like it suggests. Trying to decided between trying this or getting one from Steer and Gear, Firm Feel has a long wait currently.

so that is the small output shaft.
I went with
https://catalog.larescorp.com/part/1031/
this one instead with the larger output shaft, so I could use the newer pitman arm, which was easier to find and cheaper.

advanced auto used to sell them and you could get a discount coupon. but looks like they don't carry them any more.even though it shows in their where to buy.
oriely's shows it, but it is crazy cost. so may not be worth it. I only paid 150 for mine, but they list it at 800 now.

but 1 think to mention. I talked to lares after trying to get my car aligned and they said not to let them do it with the car off. it has to have power assist while they are trying to turn the wheels, or it could damage or twist some part inside causing some slop or alignment with the wheel issues.
which I think was too late for me, but just so you are aware.
I like a centered steering wheel, but it is off, and as close as the guy could get and track straight. there is some play but my front end is completely rebuilt, so whatever it is, is straight up from the gearbox.

Power steering equipped cars should have the final toe set with the engine running as it eliminates the play present in the box without the hydraulic pressure.
As far as the play,
1st verify that the box was centered in it's travel when the alignment was done. THIS IS CRITICAL WITH RESPECT to play. IF it was not centered you will have excess play
2. Verify it is actually in the box and not something else like a loose coupler or other component.
3. If it is in fact in the box that can easily be adjusted using the adjusting screw on top of the box. MAKE SURE THE BOX IS CENTERED Mark your starting location so you can return to it if needed. loosen the locknut and lower the screw 1/4 to 1/2 turn at a time. Recheck the play. If the box is not centered or you go too far the gears can be damaged.
4. The off center wheel can easily be corrected with minor adjustments to the tie rods. I have never allowed a car to leave my shop with an off center wheel. BUT do be aware that there is more of a "CROWN" on some roads that will cause an off center effect. So make sure the roads your using is not overly crowned.
4. Find a GOOD Frame and ALIGNMENT shop if possible as ALL of the above should have been done with the alignment. You may have to pay more than a tire store but I'm sure you know the cliché
