The car has had the front cowl, cowl brackets, inner fenders and rad support all changed. Now the hood opening is different front to back - the front being wider by 1/2 an inch !! We're not sure if the opening is even square. Would appreciate it if someone could provide measurements of the front and rear widths as well as from the cowl to the front tip.

The rad support pieces were installed separately which probably contributed to the issues.

Hood has a bit of crown so checked opening with it up, left it down and held tape in middle for cowl to tip. Stuck finger down at tip to gauge end on tape.

Front with rad support as good guide for straight across - 53” on the money

Rear with rear hood hinge bolt as rough guide for straight across - 52 7/8

Cowl with tape tip held to body, held tape in middle to hood with left hand, stuck finger down to touch tip of hood - 51.5

Will post up gap pics shortly. 69 GTX, 71k miles CA car and never hit or rusted in any way. Car has nice paint that I’m sure was redone, not sure if fenders came off.

Pics are too big to upload. I’m not sure what changes the game on that. Had this happen on here before.

I’d say my gaps are pretty darn good with door to fender, cowl and hood sides, level all around so if you can get those numbers and a straight hood you should be golden.

The photos are too large to post, 4Mb is the largest acceptable. Resize your photos and try again. You should be able to do it with 'Microsoft Office Picture Manager' under the 'Picture' tab.

I measured a local car that appears to be in original shape and the rear is a tad narrower than the front. It doesn't have a hood I could measure so I'm curious if the hood is also narrower at the rear.

Mine is 52 5/8 front and rear.

I went to just behind the edge of the hood scoop in rear.

Went just behind the angled parts of the front as that seemed to be a better place with the dome effect. Held tape down in middle of hood for both measurements.
