Not mine, but it looks clean enough to almost make me want to get rid of my same year stick V8 4x4 Dakota and get this one instead.

Almost.

Maybe if he holds onto it, his son will change his mind?

Personally, I hope it sells to someone that'll appreciate it and not given to some kid that would rather ride is bicycle.
For the asking price it should go quick IMO.

Yeah, but I can kind of sympathize with the seller. I went through a similar thing with one of my sons. The older one took to driving and eventually told me he was really grateful I taught him on a manual transmission. The younger son, he was pretty ambivalent about driving because all his friends would consistently give him rides. When he got stuck at home a few times, he finally warmed up to the idea, but it took awhile.

Sounds like the dad is fed up. I'm guessing that if and when the kid finally gets it together, whatever he's driving then won't be as cool as this Dak R/T.

And like that it is gone. Did not get to see the ad but my 2 boys had Dakota R/T trucks when they were in High School both had single cabs. Somehow they did manage to stay out of truoble with the trucks

It's an extended cab, R/T, blue, appeared to be pretty stock (not hot rodded), decent miles (around 130K if I'm not mistaken), with a price tag around $7,500.
All that is from memory, so.....
EDIT: Oh, and bought for a teenager that didn't have an interest in driving, thus, up for sale.

I owned a '98 club cab R/T...Deep Amethyst Purple...bought it brand new, literally right off the showroom floor. It rode fairly harsh with those low profile tires and rough suspension. My previous Dakota... a '92 2wd Sport regular cab short box with the 318 Magnum seemed alot faster...but I had 3.90 gears installed, and a MP performance computer in it...so that helped out a bit.

I put the 5.9 mag drive train from a 97 or 98 RT Dakota into a 39 Dodge pickup. It was really fun, sort of drove like an overpowered go kart. Too bad that 39 cab was so small. The guy I sold it to has wore out 4 sets of rear tires, in about 6,000 miles. I think he has it for sale. Rumer is he has concerns about keeping his drivers license.
