My 14 year old has bought his first truck. It's a 1987 W150 with a slant six and a 4 speed.
We need help with some repairs and some parts
Repairs We are also struggling to determine what the reason for the NP208 not shifting into 4WD. We were told "that the 4WD needed fluid" and that's why it won't go into 4WD
We have identified some parts we need and will list them here.
First up is the "fuel filler neck cup" that bolts to the filler neck and the bed.

I dont understand this "1st gen" BS. Wasnt the 1st gen of Dodge trucks made in like 1922 or something? The 81-93s sure weren't their 1st. It's as if to say Dodge never built a truck before then..... it's because the cummin's guys started calling the 89-93 CTD trucks "First Gen's" then people who didn't understand what they heard thought that meant 81 & up trucks since that's the same body style as the "first gen" CTD trucks and repeated it over & over & over. It's dumb, people that use it are ignorant, I know, it's frustrating, but it's not going to go away, I myself refuse to use the term "first gen" outside of cummins truck discussions.

It's the first gen called Ram, so there is that. Not a big deal unless the poster doesn't give enough information to answer the question. In which case I generally just keep on scrolling, not playing 20 questions with someone that can't bother to tell you exactly what he's working on.

First up is the "fuel filler neck cup" that bolts to the filler neck and the bed. I had the same problem on my 90. I made one out of aluminum and it lasted for years until i sold the truck. You may have to get the original part # and do some searching. But this was problem area because it was plastic and may break again. My driver door arm rest was shot also but got a new one from the dealer. If you think parts are hard to find for the 80's trucks try the looking for the 70's.

I had actually considered bending one up and welding it together. Happy to hear others have done this too.

pics of bulkhead, both sides. Thanks TRW1982. That will likely help with something. We got the cargo light working but the interior light seems to not function. We did get a stereo and speakers wired in and working
