Site not often seen in fly over country .. funny car is a little town

thanks for posting. My friend has a 69 Barracuda funny car and the first thing I notice is there was no escape hatch in the roof of either car. That would both me knowing someone had to let you out. The bodies were very heavy compared to newer technology. Birdtracker

Saw that car in person a few years ago at Cedar Falls..Talked with John a bit. He's a pretty nice guy.

It is owned locally now

I remember when John bought the body back in the early 90's.
It was for sale in the swap meet at the Mopar Nats in Indy, I believe it was painted purple when it was in the swap.

Prior to that he was running a Cuda Funny Car.
IIRC he put the Challenger body on the Cuda's chassis.
Westport Dodge (St.Louis dealer) became his sponsor then.

Was it sold less the engine?

I want the rear wheels.

American at one time would make whatever you wanted .. not sure if they still do that

I started out with the Cuda body like that then built the race car, doors, hood, front end and trunk were removable, paid $500 for the body it campaigned as “Custom Body funny car” back in the 70s
