Edelbrock markets this carb as a universal fit performance carb for small blocks and "some" big blocks. It is not a direct fit replacement carb for anything. As such the throttle linkage, throttle pressure linkage, emissions equipment, and vacuum nipples may not match your specific application. More information from you on the exact application would be necessary for anyone to offer real help. (this is probably the reason that you have had 180 views in 12 hours and no answers)
And welcome to Moparts. Hopefully someone here can be more helpful to you than me.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

I'm having trouble with knowing where to put some of my vacuum lines on my carb and also where do you put the EGR valve hose? That's not an emissions carb, there is no EGR port.

What vacuum lines do you have? Most 440 cars are pretty basic and only have distributor and maybe an ac line that need vacuum. The distributor will go to ported and most cars have a vacuum tree to plug the rest in. You’d maybe have a pcv line that you are calling egr that will have a big port to go into at the carb base.
I want my fair share

You want ported vacuum for egr. Ported vacuum is not present at idle but is present shortly after the throttle blade starts to open. Reason for this is that EGR at idle makes it run rough, possibly stall. You also want it to go thru a thermal vacuum switch so that it doesn't apply with the engine cold, same reasons.
Basically, the same source at the distributor vacuum advance. don't forget egr usually has a delay relay along with the thermo vac switch. myself I remove all of the OEM crap when going to a edelbrock carb. I only use the dist vac advance on the ported side of eddy carb after installing a set of the MrGasket mopar mech advance springs, rear 3/8 vac/nipple to power brake booster, front 3/8 vac nipple to pcv valve. I also suggest marking off the damper timing marks so you can set the timing @ 32* BTDC after recurving the dist mech advance. I also suggest recalibrating the 1405 my 440 needed larger jets/needles/step up springs 2 stage rich on primary and 4 stages on secondary lighter step up spring (I have a big lumpy cam though) and the 600cfm feeds it just fine. those 2 things woke my 78 MH 440 up on the street.

There are better choices than the CarterBrocks with their absolutely ancient calibrations. But all out of the box universal carbs will need some additional components and tuning. The key is to pick one that needs the least of both.
And a question for the OP; is the port needed for an EGR or for the PVC?

I just [censored] canned the FiTec on my 330 Desoto Hemi. Replaced it with an Edelbrock 1401. So far, runs great.
