This picture is a 1970 and later K member, not a 1969 and earlier or a 426 Hemi or 440 HP motor K member with the skid plate they came with stock

This picture is a 1970 and late K member, not a 1969 and earlier or a 426 Hemi or 440 HP motor K member with the skid plate they came with stock Actually that's a late 1969 or 1969-1/2 A12 style K-frame that would soon become the 1970 K-frame. The shape of the openings had to change from the '68/'69 K-frame to accommodate the front sway bar on the '70 to go through the K-frame instead of in front of it. If you look at this K-frame where the '70 sway bar pivot/bushings are to be mounted you'll see the mounting holes are not drilled through. The holes are there in the bottom half but not through on the top half of this '69-1/2 K-frame. I shouldn't say this out loud but this is one of the "tell tales" of a correct A12 car. I know this because I did the text and that's a photo I took of my spare late '69 K-frame. Mike Here's a late '69 383 RR that I owned with the '69-1/2 - '70 to be K-frame with the '70 sway bar opening and drilled on the bottom half but not all the way through yet.

So, from what you guys are saying, on a 69 Hemi car the skid plate covers the stamp, right? No, the skid plate is welded to the bottom. The date is on the front of the K-frame facing the radiator support.

Aw, okay, now I got it! On the other hand, I laid down in front of my car with a flashlight and looked at the very front of the K member but there are no numbers. This does not surprise me much, since my original radiator support has no date on the back either. One of these days when my laptop will be ready I will surprise few members with what is "wrong" with my car with photos back when I bought it and when it was put back together. Wait for it!
Oops St. Louis assembly plant but have you looked on the top of the radiator support for the numbers? The K-frame stampings are from some that I've seen done with a very "sharp" thin line stamp and may need to have some paint removed that easily fills the stamping in sometimes.
