Figured I'd ask here first. grin

I just got my 354 Hemi built and running. I stuffed a reasonably healthy cam in it and am planning running a 46RH w/lockup convertor behind it with a 4.30 rear gear. It will likely be going in a car with a weight of around 3500 pounds. It will mostly be used for cruising with occasional highway trips. I'm thinking it would probably like a 15-1700 stall convertor.

Is there such a convertor out there and who would be a good source.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Check out CR11H, picked 1 up at Advanced Auto for <$100
Been in my 518 for 4 years behind a 340.
In the process of swapping in a 5.7 crate motor.

Didn't see the need to pay $500 for a custom TC

if it has a lockup clutch, i would go for a 2500-3000 stall speed.
my opinion, 17-1800 is too low.
just my opinion. your mileage will vary.

Agreed.

Using a healthy cam probably means killing some of the low end torque.

Even with a 4:30 gear, a tad more stall will help the driveability.

Once it is in lockup the stall is not an issue.
