Has anybody used the Hemi orange engine paint offered by Bill Hirsch?

https://www.hirschauto.com/ENGINE-ENAMEL/productinfo/EE-QUART/

Specifically the brush on/spray on stuff in the quart can.

Their website has it listed as "Chrysler Hemi orange, 70-71 340ci and more"

When I emailed them asking if this would be the correct color for a 1969 Dodge Charger with a 426 Hemi, this is the response I got:

"I do not have a direct listing for Dodge cars. Sometimes they used a silver. A quick internet search does show an orange color on this engine though, so it is likely the same hemi orange color."

Does anybody have any experience using this paint on a '69 Hemi ?

My car is a clone, so not going for Mopar Nationals gold.

I can't speak for the accuracy of the orange, but years ago I used their Chrysler Red on an engine, and it was great.
Sprayed it with a gun, perfect color, quick dry, accurate gloss level.

I recently used it on my Hemi. Personally, I like it. I brushed it on (two coats) and it looks good in my opinion.

I have only got a couple of months on the engine right now but it seems to be holding up well.

That’s a cat, not a bee.

You should talk to people that know about modern Mopars. When he responded talking about Silver, he was talking about Hemis in the 50's. There are different shades of Hemi orange. Frank Baldason has the correct stuff in pint cans.

Here’s a couple more photos. The car is super fun. I took it on an 1800 mile road trip last Summer.

"Mopar" doesn't make paint - they re-package whatever they can buy from the lowest bidder.
For decades, their rattle cans were a crap-shoot whether they'd even spray, and I'd bet that hasn't improved.

Love the Bee !

That's not the correct paint, for any Mopar.

Then use whatever suits you, unlikely anybody is gonna cite you for "incorrect" color since there's no standard to judge by. I use body color EV2 without the metallic.

I can't vouch for his orange but
I've used the 68 turquoise several times and I loved the application and appearance though I heard some "experts" question it's color accuracy! I did thin it, every time to spray at my preference I found it easier to thin and shoot.

The last time I bought the Mopar paint it was so far off color your grandmother would puke.

Antone ever try the POR-15 Hemi orange paint?
It's a high-solids, low-solvent blend.

He showed up as a stray kitten several years ago and decided that he wasn't leaving. Anytime that I go out into the garage, he is not far behind.....
