Did the search and can't find my answer.
I have a 76 D100 SWB, 318 / A727 / 9.25 Chrysler Corporation rearend. I measured the u-joints and I'm getting two different sizes. Did they put a 7260 on one end and a 7290 on the other end?
yes they did have 2 sizes on the same drive shaft. some would have same on both ends with them being both 7260 or both 7290
7260 was usually on the trans yoke and the 7290 on the 9 1/4 yoke.
they have some conversion joints for this when in a pinch swapping yokes/shafts around.
I have the part #s in my notes if you need one.
I have run them for yrs with no issues daily driving on my trucks & 4x4s (my 79 RC 4x4 had a 7260/7290 on the very short rear shaft) when I swapped in a 8 1/4 I ran a conversion joint 7290shaft x7260 yoke.
my biggest one was 7260 x 1330 conversion joint.
