Looking for the numbers made on a 1971 challenger convertible 383 shaker hood four speed. Looking for publications of that of the numbers. Thanks for your help. Anyone know how to get to this page on moparts. Here is a link that puts the number at 11 as well: http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads...;Words=+drodg&topic=&Search=true It says on there that 11 Convertibles were made with the shaker hood for the challenger in 1971 (11 JH Convertibles (no R/T verts in 71)).

41(71,383 4 speed) but don't have the #'s for the shaker. Indeed a rare car!

I don’t think shaker option is not broken down per engine size.

For sure not broken down my engine AND trans. No option is broken down like that.

there are 18 of those 11 cars listed in Speeddemon's Challenger SHAKER registry

2 of which are 383 4-speed ***** one is RED & the other BLUE, have you found a different car?

From my sample size of 164 '71 Challenger convertible VIN's, the engine breakdown has tended to be: 62% 318-2bbl, 14% 340, 13% 383-4bbl, 7% 383-2bbl, and 3.7% 225.

Take into account that more desirable engines like a 383-4bbl and 340 have a higher rate of survival. It wouldn't be outrageous to say that probably two thirds of '71 Challenger convertibles were 318 powered.

Just an FYI for folks that find this stuff interesting.

Mine is a 318 car,but now has an hp 383 from a 71 Charger SE N code car.

that 10% would include all challenger production. what was the total production of convertibles?

Cool thread on 71 challenger convertible shaker cars.
Great to see info on all the 71 convertibles.
Attached are photos of my 1971 Challenger convertible, 383 manual, N96.
I understand this car is one of eleven.
Was hoping to see one at Carlisle last weekend but no luck.
My car resides in Staten Island, NY.
Just getting back to work on restoring it after being garaged for many years.
I welcome discussions with the other owners to learn more about the car.
