I hope this is an easy question. The car in question is a 69 Charger RT, four speed car with 3.54 rear. Engine is mild 440 and I have no dyno numbers but just for the sake of my question let's call it 500 horse and 500 torque. Car is primarily street driven with a couple of dragstrip visits per year.
Current leaf springs are the factory oem, so they are 50+ years now. Someone gave me a pair of Caltracs but based on my use of the car, I'm leaning against installing them now. I think for my purposes, a fresh set of leaf springs with a good old fashioned pinion snubber will be fine. I plan to use Eaton Spring as a supplier. I've used them in the past and more than happy, but they offer 2 versions. An oem spring rate and an xhd.
Opinions? (and if it makes any difference to my spring rate question, I should mention I'm adding the USCartool chassis stiffening basic kit which of course means a subframe connector)
