Active ingredient in most of them is Toluene. If you can get your hands on that in quantity, you should save a bunch of $$$.

Home Depot sells it by the gallon. You need to know the mix formula.

Most rely heavily on MMT, which is the ingredient that leaves the "orange dust" coating on plugs and O2 sensors. FWIW, even if the product claims to be safe for use w/ oxygen sensors, use of MMT with them has been proven to reduce their service life.

Brands that seem to offer at least some benefit, if using or blending "real" race fuel isn't an option, include Torco, Boostane and "Race Gas". Not saying others don't work, just that these have shown improvements in certain tests I've seen.

I've used some boosters in the past and may still need to in the future. However, IMO they're at best a Band-Aid to get by on sub-optimal fuel.

This is from RB Racing site big Bonneville motorcycle guys

When Honda was spending 500 millions dollars a year on their V6 Formula 1 Turbo motors they ran a mixture containing 84% Toluene (114 Octane). It has excellent anti-detonation properties and increases your octane rating. If you are running 92 octane pump gasoline and you add this stuff, your octane rating will be changed by the formula:

[(Quarts Gas x 92) + (Quarts Toluene x 114)] / (Quarts Gasoline + Quarts Toluene).

For example, if you add one quart Toluene to four gallons of gasoline, your Octane will increase one point from 92 to 93. Add two quarts to four gallons and you get an Octane rating of 100. For you high boost junkies this is something to ponder. You can buy the product in hardware stores. Xylene has a higher flashpoint (less volatile) and has and octane rating of 117.

Anyone who considers blending their own boosters / fuels needs to be aware of the health hazards associated with the chemicals used commonly in such activities. I'll throw this out for consideration and leave the rest of the research to the reader: https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/002829.htm

Absolutely you could damage yourself. Probably easier than your engine pretty quick. Human organs are harder to get than Mopar parts. Just saying

Kenne Bell recommends the Lucas product that I posted earlier for use with their Super Charged applications,
