I have never been in the museum, and they had strict rules against allowing any pictures. Why, I do not know.

But I talk with the owner regularly and they are going to allow pictures now until the end.

There is also a huge classic car salvage yard that surrounds the Museum.

I'll be going there in May probably.

Been there, probably 3-4 years ago. The toy museum has a lot of toys covering a lot of years, a lot of toy cars and a lot of doll stuff. There are several duplicates of the same toys, but the toy museum was worth spending some time going through, there are several buildings.
Didn't get out into the yard because it was raining that day, there was a lot of older stuff with newer stuff mixed in, from what I could see from the edge. It was a functioning yard, so the inventory changed. The old guy was a bit grumpy until you got him talking about the toys, then he was pretty cool. The house was fixed up a bit back then as well and his wife sold food goodies and ladies kitchen type of stuff. She was a sweet old grandma.

Wouldn't surprise me if the old guy died and the family wants to liquidate the stuff, you got the vibe they were still hanging in there just for the old man, even back then.

Lots of old people have some nice furniture, when one of a couple die, often the remaining person will down size the living quarters. Someone has to figure out what to do with the excess furniture. Maybe the guy with the funerial service was serving both needs, and offering a way to reduce the cost of the funerial expenses.

I wonder who got them? Elmer was not only avid collector but a knowledgeable and tough negotiator. I just find it surprising he would sell the Bird and the Daytona! What about they matching ramp truck hauler he built? Someone must have paid a ton of $$$

They were sold just before he passed about 4 or 5 years ago.

They both went to a collector that probably won't ever show them. And they will sit until he passes, and then move onto a new owner.

thanks for the link with the salvage yard pics Ryan.
It was nice to check them out. A lot of genuine muscle cars inside. And most of them were taken off the road due to crashes it seems.
