Did the search and can't find my answer.

I have a 76 D100 SWB, 318 / A727 / 9.25 Chrysler Corporation rearend. I measured the u-joints and I'm getting two different sizes. Did they put a 7260 on one end and a 7290 on the other end?

Dana/spicer used to have a site where you put in the vehicle and it would tell you every u joint. The page is down now but if you look on there site you may find what you need.

yes they did have 2 sizes on the same drive shaft. some would have same on both ends with them being both 7260 or both 7290

7260 was usually on the trans yoke and the 7290 on the 9 1/4 yoke.

they have some conversion joints for this when in a pinch swapping yokes/shafts around.

I have the part #s in my notes if you need one.

I have run them for yrs with no issues daily driving on my trucks & 4x4s (my 79 RC 4x4 had a 7260/7290 on the very short rear shaft) when I swapped in a 8 1/4 I ran a conversion joint 7290shaft x7260 yoke.

my biggest one was 7260 x 1330 conversion joint.

Thanks for confirming. I measured the u-joints with a China Bay electronic caliper about 3 times. Thought it may have been spitting out wrong numbers. I then took those two numbers and got the measurements confirmed on Summit as being the 7260 and 7290. I just didn't figure they used two different u-joints.

I am just now putting in a 318 with a cast 340 crank (it was the only crank I had available), ported Speedmaster heads, Speedmaster air gap, +.060 bore, 228 @.050 cam, Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnum rockers. Pretty nice little build. The trans was a unit that was built for a hot 408 in a B-body and the buy decided to go big block with just a few thousand miles on it. It has some performance stuff done to it. A friend of mine built it and sold it to me for his customer. The torque converter will (hopefully) flash at 2400. For now it has 2.71 gears but the next upgrade is some 3.21 or 3.55's.

She's in. Still have to put the U-joints in, install a heater core, wire everything back up, and do some other small things before I break it in.

After the engine I will be doing the leaf spring flip, install a limited slip diff, and rebuild the front with van LCA's. Also have a set of Weld Prostars to put on.
