I’m looking for some help with 70 Super Bee side marker lights, specifically, whether or not they’re supposed to be painted black in the small groove that runs around the outer edge of the chrome housing. The rear lights on mine don’t look like they were ever painted, but the fronts have black paint in the grooves. I’m not 100% sure which are original to my car, or what has been done by previous owners. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a one family owned, original paint 1970 Super Bee. The markers do not have paint in the recessed area.
