Oh, is that what "branded" title means?

I dunno, just going by the description......

The California title is branded “salvaged.”

Listing comments from seller claims the car was never wrecked. Owner parked it and passed away, family then surrendered registration to the DMV, and the only way to retitle it later was as salvaged.

That sounds wrong. The title should have transferred to heirs through estate. No need to surrender the title to DMV.

Salvage titles in CA are for cars that were damaged/total loss insurance claims. Could have been the car was broken in and the cost to repair was greater than salvage value at the time when these cars were 500-800. Not hard to get there with a broken window or two. Here's your salvage title... wink

Searching hard I can't see anything suspicious in fit and finish. Even underside looks really good! If it was crashed OEM stuff must've been used. Only thing I see if I really want to pick is a new screw maybe on fender tag but that's nothing.
