Right. However the poster said sportsman chassis which should be a B series van conversion and class C.

Factory recommends out the front on any of the B series models like that, get a short chain, remove the intake, keep it tight and you can slip it right out the front.

"Slip it right out the front" may be the factory terms, but "slip" probably isn't the correct verb. With the grill and everything removed it will come out the front. The clearances can be really tight. I can see where a few could have slipped right out, but I suspect most were more challenging. One of the two I did was easier then the other. Loosing the exhaust manifolds, the intake manifold, and the motor & trans mounts on the motor/trans sure helps with the clearances. You also want to be sure you can back the engine picker straight back 8'-10'. Have a helper with a big prybar. Gene

I looked at the motorhome a couple of days ago. It is definitely a 440.
A buddy of mine is keeping me motivated to start working on it.
The tires are all still holding air but they are all sunk to the rims in dirt.
What am I going to do with the drive train? I have no freakin' idea. My friend has told me I can have the whole thing. She just wants it gone.

before you take on this albatross make sure you can scrap the rest, lots of places want nothing to do with RV remains.

No worries. The motorhome is located on my friend's 65 acres. There's not much we can't do and haven't done there.
