Drive-by-wire accelerator pedals have become the standard in OEM automotive applications. Rather than having the traditional throttle cable running up from the pedal to the carburetor or throttle body, modern vehicles use a pedal position sensor that tells the engine computer how far down the go pedal is being pressed.
