what is the correct method to spray this paint, and have it come out like it is supposed to ?
i have tried this stuff using every way imaginable, even FOLLOWING the instructions to a T, and i just can't get the finish it is supposed to be.
not even remotely close !
does anyone else make a hammertone paint in a spray can ? [please don't say krylon - i HATE that stuff !]
TIA to those WAY smarter than me on this subject ! bow

I used it once and ended up with a solid smooth color so was rather disappointed. Wonder if they have any how-to videos out there that help?

Make sure and shake the can well. Put it on wet and heavy. I used it on an old gas tank, after spraying it was spot on to original zinc plating. Very happy with the results.

I've used it, didn't do anything special but shake and spray, and it looked good when done. I wonder if it has to do with the temperature/humidity etc. where you're using it.

You have to put it down pretty heavy and wet for it to do the hammered thing, where it looks to be full of fisheye. I did my shop cabinets with it.

I used it on the dash of the '55 Plymouth. Texture came out great but the white didn't cover worth a crap. Had to stop, resand, use white primer, and start over.

I've never had much luck with it. Laying it down heavy resulted in pinholes - not "fisheyes" ... pinholes. Most recently I haven't had any luck with "wrinkle" paint either. I suspect formulas have been changed to satisfy EPA regs.

i have tried laying it on wet and heavy, but then you get runs on vertical surfaces.
i have shaken it six ways from sunday, made sure the temperature was 60 or higher with the item, as well as the outside temperature, and still no luck.
i'm almost ready to try a light mist of wd-40 on something as a test to see what that would do.
or just forget the spray cans and try the brush on stuff with a foam brush. shruggy
