I found a car in a guys barn. He is willing to sell.
Needs restoration but the vin has me stumped.

Yes 11 characters in the vin on a 1965 car. ( I thought they only were suppose to have 10 digits)
Can someone help with this.

Upon further research it appears this is a Canadian car and they added in an extra digit.

Still can't quite figure this out.

P = Plymouth
8 = Taxi
E= ????????????
5= 1965 model year
9= Windsor Ontario Plant
152XXXX = sequence number

This is on a 1965 Plymouth Sport fury convertible.


Again any help will be appreciated

Just a WAG.

Another issue is that sport fury was not built at the Windsor plant in 1965. The barracuda / valiant was.
Sport fury was built at the Lynch Road, Detroit Michigan plant and the Belvedere plant in Illinois.
I am starting to assume a vin swapped onto this car at some point
