I've been waiting for a EFI ready oem style fuel tank for my 1967 Satellite since June of 2021!
No estimate when they will be available as of today. What are the pro's and con's of EFI fuel pumps frame rail mounted verse in tank? Thanks

a buddy of mine put a 318 magnum in a 37 chrysler and a 49 plymouth. on the 37, he used the a frame mounted ford f150/bronco hi pressure pump and has no problems with it. on the 49 he found that a jeep grand cherokee( i think, may have been reg cherokee) tank fit between the frame rails. hope this helps

Just wait til the tank gets low and you go around a corner. Pump sicks air as the fuel sloshes away, engine instantly stops running. At least put one of those Holley Hydramat socks on the end of the pickup.

yeah, that is the issue.
it falls flat if the pick up gets uncovered.
I went with a surge tank instead of cutting up a new tank or ordering another.

I also don't recommend it, because it is a pain to put together and take apart.

This does mean you need 2 pumps, not just 1 however.
you need a pump to feed the surge tank.
I put mine together so if one of the 2 failed, I could replumb the system to at least limp me home.

now most want you to mount it in the engine compartment.
I put mine above the rear axle instead. both the feed pump and the surge tank.
I suppose mine is skinny so it lends itself better to that.
there is another cheaper one, but it is made out of plastic. bothered me a little so I don't think I bookmarked it.
but there isn't any pressure in the tank, so it really doesn't matter. Just a personal choice.

they wanted you to be able to use the original mechanical fuel pump to feed it and it would feed the efi setup if I recall correctly.

Using the stock mechanical pump to feed the surge tank, and putting the EFI return back there are as well.

Waited five months for my Aeromotive tank to show up for a 71 e body. Finally got it, pulled it outta the box, bottom side is scratched like.someone manhandled it on a work bench. Back it goes for another who knows how long.

the needle valve, check valve, and other plumbing on the top of the filter housing. looks like 3/8 NPT ?

He's going over kill. All I am doing is getting one of those remote spin on filter adapters, using a long fuel filter that fits it and the pickup tube idea.

My adapter has 4 ports, two in and two out. One for fuel in from the mechanical pump, one for fuel out to the EFI fuel pump, one for fuel return from the regulator into the adapter and the fourth is the line back to the tank for the excess.

What tank are you looking for? Summit shows 4 of the Tanks Inc. TCR14-T in stock. Have used this tank on 2 cars and they work good.

Yes, I did see those without pump modules. What fuel pump and sending unit do you use for that tank? I didn't see any references like "must use fuel pump part # and sending unit #"

Go to Tanks website and pick out the sender and fuel pump you want, then put those part numbers in on Summits website. GPA-2 fuel pump if under 450 HP, GPA-4 for up to 630 HP and TAN-ORG fuel level sender for mopar. Holley also sells this tank/pump/sender bundle under PN#19-183

Spectra used to make an EFI conversion tank that the pump module went in the side on the tank like the stock sending unit for the 66-67 cars but I don't see it listed. Have used this tank for a few lower HP builds and it works good other then the fuel level ohms are not right for Mopar.

The Holley setup was what I was hoping for being that for I'm going to be switching from QuickFuel carburetor to a Sniper Injection System. I didn't see any savings on purchasing all the necessary parts separately anyway. Hoping that supply issues clear up soon enough.
So no mention of the pros and cons of in tank vs frame rail mounted pumps for EFI systems for street use.

I know nothing about any of these three fuel tank choices good or bad so I was leaning toward the Holley because of the Sniper EFI System that I plan of using. Please advise if you feel qualified. Just thinking about it further, using the Holley and Spectra style pumps only seem a better choice because of serviceability. It looks as if the Holley and Spectra fuel pump modules are generic fit not custom for a '67 B body tank. The Aeromotive looks like OEM tank on the outside but modified for a EFI pump and baffle and would be my choice if function and reliability are equal for my application. Again, I know next to nothing about them. Thanks

Is a fuel pressure regulator required on these fuel tank/pump sets when used on Sniper or Atomic EFI systems? I will like to somehow incorporate a fuel return also.

I had mine mounted on the rail low for a while.
as said before, if the tank ran low, it would fall over.
the other issue was, the guy that ran my exhaust put it really close to the pump.
no issues normally, but we went to see christmas lights one year and it was stop and go traffic for over an hour or two. the pump overheated and wouldn't put out enough pressure and my car stalled in the line up of cars. was lucky and there was a place to push it out of the traffic.
couldn't figure it out, but sitting there it cooled enough to get it running again, and I flew out of there to get it home, since I didn't know what it was.
finally figured it out after a bit of trouble shooting, and decided to move it and do the surge tank at the same time.

Yes you need a regulator efir or carb. I run a 340lph Stealth tank in my 68 GTS and regulate it to 20 psi for the main fuel rail and again down to 5.5 for the carb and n20. The cool part is I can swap the regulator and go EFI when the time comes.

Jeremiah do you recommend the Aeromotive tank? Any opinion on the Holley or Tanks fuel tanks? Thanks
