I don't know if anyone noticed this at PRI but it looked interesting for the Small Block guys.

I'd guess a 'universal' type block would require you to figure out your own intake setup?

I think I'd rather have a Ritter block, assuming its correctly built and all that, before diving into a universal engine block if they are both equally durable and function the same in a street/strip car.

Hmmm...china walls look like SBC, and the head bolt arrangement is interesting, some 4- & some 5-bolt.
Looks like a ton of water jacket too.
I too wonder about an intake, and for that matter the front cover and engine-mounting locations.
Interesting idea, though.

Nice find Bob. Any more details? When available? Cost? Has anyone built any platforms with it yet? When are you going to buy one?

A small block with Mopar heads and the distributor standing straight up in the front, that would blow some minds! shock

I tried to work with Dart, several years ago, on a generic block that would work with Mopar top end. A standardized short block that could be machined to fit the aftermarket LA heads, use some cheaper GM bottom end parts and make 2000+HP. Didn't have any traction. This looks promising.

Other than having the distibutor in the front, I am not sure why you're think that. They have a 4.5" bore spacing and a mirror type port lay out, like the SB2.2, P7 and TRD heads.

Best I can tell, all the current Nascar stuff has the distributor in the front now.

These days, whatever name is cast or engraved in the valve cover, that's what it is.

P7 heads will not fit on a R6 block and the R6 block and heads were based off the Ford motor right from the head engine builder at Penske

I am well aware the P7 heads won't fit, I used it and other as examples of heads with the mirror port layout.

Being developed by M&M Competition Engines. They also make cast tunnel ram style intakes that fit various platforms. 1spec is the foundry that casts the parts. They are also casting a Gen III Hemi head for MMX. I figured guys would be interested since R blocks are scarce. I almost walked right by at PRI till I noticed the Gen III head. Started looking at the stuff and noticed the block. Would be an interesting combo with a 9.800 deck, stroke and P7 heads. I'm sure they can make a cast manifold.

I'm to invested in a Gen III Hemi to start over. Everything for my 63 is fabbed for that so no changing direction now. Does peak my interest though. Be a GREAT motor for NA 10.5!
