I ordered head studs from ARP in September, and last I checked, they are pushed out until the end of March. T&D rockers were 14 weeks out, and due the end of this week, but haven’t heard a word from them yet. I also ordered a Liberty Transmission, and was told 6-8 weeks. It’s now been 12 weeks.

My #2 son works in the tire shop at a local mine and he said the vendors are looking at a 30-40% increase after the first of the year. Apparently there is a shortage of raw material and those vendors who do have raw material don't have workers to staff the factories. His department ordered 300 17" truck tires....and have received 25. Unbelievable.

Guys it is going to be a VERY long winter. We just got another 5% increase from Comp/Edelbrock on top of the one we got just two months ago. ARP, Edelbrock, etc are MONTHS behind and that is growing daily. There will be delays and price increases unlike we have seen before. Buckle up
Todd

I called Tubular Automotive back in September for a new set of headers , they told me they were waiting over a year for tubing and to call back in as few months , I did they had the tubing and I received them last week but I am under the impression they don't have a lot of material and the price for the headers was up quite a bit. I just think everything is behind.. I am sending my carb to AED for a rebuild and its a few month wait... I want to get my new truck undercoated and its a wait until the end of January.. if you look in Summit or Jegs a lot of the parts have availability a few months away. Luckily when I hurt my motor and had to have my backup rebuilt quickly my engine builder was able to get the parts needed with out any problems except I was lowering compression .. he wanted to do it with a cometic gasket but ended up with different pistons instead because the gasket wasn't available.

Nothing special, typical Blown Hemi rod, I planned on getting GRP's. Its not going to cause an issue but figured I’d forewarn others who are better procrastinators than I. In the past they were shelf items...

Ok I can’t help you. My buddy is sitting on a brand new set of GRP aluminum rods. (7.150). It’s the same size I run in my 572 and I should buy them but honestly the car is just sitting here so why bother. Just checking to see if I could help you both out.

And although my helmet was new in 2019, I might get a new one with the newest SFI/Snell year (SA2020).
I know my slicks still have sufficient dot depth remaining. But they came with the car and I think they were new in 2018. And with the new motor.... maybe new is in order (33x15 wide).

Wow, I didn't realize I had these costs in front of me. LOL

I put off taking my car apart for a cam change last year because I was afraid of parts availability. Looks like it might go another season.

I guess I’m lucky. Blew my junk up last May. All the parts are here except head gaskets. Need new belts. Have all the motor parts, drum of fuel, and new slicks.

Racing alky has always been a wide price variation (supplier, area of the country).
I have been paying $3.00/gallon (by the drum or refill). The tracks charge $5.00/gallon.

There were supply problems (delays) that my distributor had in 2021. They would order a truck load (bulk), and it used to take a day to get. Then it was a week... no truck/driver to move it.

I hope it isn't a problem in North Carolina in 2022.

Just ordered a set of Mickey #3080 slicks. They show a ship date on Summit of March 2022. Wont need them until mid 2022 season but thought I better get them coming sooner than later.

We are holding off on a number of changes to the Vette's engine due to parts lead times. We have ordered new rods and pistons but we are looking at 16-18 weeks out, so we will run the first couple races with the combo we have and make the changes over the summer to catch the end of the NMCA season. Hopefully we can make the last three races back east starting in Martin, MI.

I have been looking for a used engine to freshen for my truck for the last few months with little to no luck. Starting to look like I may miss the entire season as new parts just have ridiculous lead times, IE castongs etc

Thats my next venture. I am thinking of doing a group buy (localy) to get the best price. I only have one full drum left, that will get me through the first event if I keep the tuning at the shop, warm ups short and effient and loose first round - at least I got that going for me.
