Someone at Motortrend owns a nice chunk of Rivian stock...market manipulation, or they were incentivized by a governing body.

It is NOT a truck if it cannot tow 12,000 lbs 16 hours in a row with only stopping a few times to refresh the fuel, simple as that! I doubt anything electric will EVER be able to do that... tsk

Saturday Wall Street Journal has a review of the Rivian by Dan Neil where he points out a long list of flaws and bugs.

Neil does admit the Rivian has seldom seen “pickup truck” acceleration, 0-60 in 3.2 seconds on all terrain tires, 3 seconds on street type tires.
60 to 90 mph acceleration “stunning” according to Neil.
7000 to 8000 lbs vehicle weight depending on options

Most car magazines these days are 90% advertisements. Either overt ones, or "sponsored" story pieces.

This should come as no surprise as most of the old magazines are just trying to do whatever they can to stay "relevant" and keep the doors open.

Maybe they think jumping on the EV bandwagon will grab some younger readership?

Electric powered cars were here before ICE powered cars, ICE power won out for a good reason and forcing us to go back to them is like making everyone turn in their I-pod and replacing them with 8 tracks.

There will be a nice black market on products that will run ICE machines long after I am gone, if not I will be making my own. EV's are worse for this planet than ICE anyday... wave

Passed a truckload of Teslas this morning myself. Now why aren't those being delivered by an electric truck? It was a filthy old diesel-powered semi. The horrors! laugh2

We're only a couple years away from EV being completely forced down our throats with the manufacturers dropping their ICE offerings. I'm calling it. As more of these things are purchased and normies park them in their garages people will finally understand 110v@15a is not sufficient to charge these cars and upgrading electrical in a staggering amount of homes is going to entail replacing everything back to the pole. Unable to go back to the convenience of ICE people will demand the Fed pays for the electrical upgrade and another $x trillion infrastructure bill will need to be passed to get us out of the corner we painted ourselves in.

Wait...so what you are saying is that electricity is NOT free and does not fall from the sky and that distribution of said not-free product costs money? Someone best let the politicians in on this little nuance.
