Been waiting on parts for the new hotrod and they are slowly trickling in. Got the bed cover all done and came out nice. Also have received the wiring bits and pieces after being held up in customs for some reason for a couple weeks. Love the Speedwire stuff for sure, best out there IMO. The only thing I am lacking now is the motorvation part of this rig, so if anyone has one lying around I'm all ears smile New bed cover is done replacing the lexan cover it had to save some tonnage. Still redoing some of the chassis as well. New seats and mounts, new shifter mounts redoing rack placement and column are done. Struts and shocks have been redone. New 4 link bars are done waiting on coating, Next up is redoing the 6C bar in the floor to create some room and will make it removeable as well. Here is a pic of the bed cover and switch panel.

Bed covering looks very sharp. up
I will have to look up that switch panel. Is there a quick open? Does it have built in fuses (locations)?

Uses a separate relay panel with 14 relays and fuses connected by a serial cable. My delay box is similar with a separate relay/fuse board and a serial cable to connect them. IMO speedwire is the est stuff out there just aint for the faint of wallet

Nice work as always Al up

I’m on the fence right now about selling my 530, new bullet is under construction. Haven’t decided if I want to keep this current one for a back up or not . At the minimum it prob needs a set of rods .

Nice work! I've been keeping a look-out for potential motors but, I don't see much popping-up lately. Couldn't you use the B1 while you have the '64 down for resto?

I have that as a fall back position but really don't want to go that direction. Afraid if I take it out it will never find its way back realcrazy 64 is getting ripped apart here in the next week or so to get a new moly cage put in it. One that fits way better smile Then I think I am going to run the March Meet in it so the body resto will be on hold for a bit, until after that and the Mopar race here as I wont have the truck done by then due to the engine situation. Which sucks but oh well..

I do have a couple buddies with nice aluminum 632's for sale, one a 9 degree the other a 14 degree. So the pull to do that is getting stronger. Only issue is the bellhousing for the glide, which are on backorder as well and my new glide has a Mopar bell. It will get sorted out sooner than later as we will need to redo/freshen/make better anything I get, plus make headers etc. Just about wrapped up the 6C bar relocation so really need to push forward on an engine. I have threatened to take the engine out of the dragster, makes my kid really happy smile It seems to work pretty well.

Al: I don’t know what you are looking for in an engine for the truck but there was a 655” that a guy in Missouri had for sale. The engine was just rebuilt. I believe his name is Steve Boush(not sure on the spelling). He was asking $22,500 for it.

It was on racing junk.

Just a thought.

I know about it and the seller....

I will say it amazes me how many people don't know what they have. No build sheets or specifics on the engines. Blows my mind honestly, I mean lord knows I buy and sell alot of stuff, just an observation.

I agree.
If it was a $5,000 engine that is one thing, but somebody with a significant amount of money in something should know what they bought. And I would insist on documentation if I was buying it.

my thoughts exactly ! ^^^^^
i'm a nobody, retired machinist, but in my 45yr career, plus my mopar interest since 1965, knowledge is gained by documentation. if you knew at one time, but the years have clouded the memory, [like me ? biggrin] that's one thing.
however, there is no excuse for NOT knowing specs on something as important as an engine that is somewhat fresh, that you are presenting in the hopes another will purchase it from you.
throwing a greasy block, crank, and rods in a pile is the only VALID excuse for not knowing anything about the stuff you have for sale.
