Just checked out this 69 440 HP in a 71 RR,is the build date 8/5/69 making it a late build eng.

Looks like E 440......Likely 8 5 68...making it very early 69 engine.

Yes its an E440 69 model year,cant get to the vin# yet need a floor jack & stands to get closer to see the vin#,cars been setting many years outside & is very low to the ground,I guess the vin# would help distinguish weather early or late build,owner states that when he bought it the seller said it was a six pack eng.

I don’t think an August of 68 assembly date on the motor would be in line for even the first of the A12 cars. I’ve never heard of one having that early of a assembly date. The vin number would tell you.

I would be very interested in that block if it is good. Looking to date code my car.... I wonder what the VIN is???? My car happens to be a six pack!!!!!!! I just noticed it was an E440.... My bad.... Cool find.
