I'd say there's a lot of potential there, for the right buyer. Or am I missing something?

Are you spooked by the title deal? I'm not sure about now but my pre-73 cars in New York only had registrations- no full title on any of them. Not sure NY is still doing the same, but none of my cars had any funny business or anything like that. One, I bought out of state with a title and I didn't get a title back. Just a registration receipt. Not sure of Maine's laws.

Thats my 1st thought. Although I know nothing about these cars. But it sure looks like a decent entry level driver. Nice options and color .combination

Id drive it for a summer

Sure looks like the block stamping are redone and missing body tag. I have a couple of old Corvettes and if the engine stamps looked legit and it had the body tag, the car would have been long gone already!

Looking at the 'stripes' on the back........is it missing a luggage rack?

That block stamp isn't factory. If you had to pay to have it stripped and repainted it would cost at least $20K. This type of corvette is a money pit. Much cheaper to buy one already done. They commonly sell for less then it cost to restore them.

And the body tag conveniently gone so you don’t see that the build date that doesn’t match to the engine???

Hell, who cares if it were much cheaper id buy it to have a good base for a bad ass muscle car. I used to ride shotgun with John L. long ago in his vettes testing...... could not go wrong building that car.

I’m not up on these vettes price wise these days, but I’ll say thats quite a bit for that car. Too many disclaimers and you can get a chrome bumper car(“real corvette”? Lol)up to 74. Four speed is the best thing that car has going and you can just as well hunt down another one. Part of the problem is they made them for so many years and the bumpers and a few small things like taillights are only thing are noticeable, plus all those 68-74 gets you the better stuff anyway.

They can be weird to drive when you go over a rise, you see only sky in some instances. I’ve also found them to have a certain cheapness to them inside. Kinda not what you’d expect. I’ll go ahead and say it, the muscle era mopars are nicer.

I want my fair share

I fully agree on the odd to drive, I recall most the time just seeing the tips of the fender tops and it wasnt a friendly seating setup for sure, maybe why so many got banged up.

I had a really nice one for a short time. Found it to be the most uncomfortable car I had driven since a 79 280 ZX. It was a looker but could not get beyond the comfort part. It's not like I'm oversized either, 5'10 195 lbs. Down the road it went.
I could drive a 63-7 coast to coast without a problem

A buddy of mine said the same thing back when he was looking for a car.
He test drove a 67 427 fastback and a 1970 LT1 car. He said the earlier car was A LOT more comfortable to drive.
But he felt the LT1 car handled much better. Just couldn't get past the extra long nose.

He ended up buying a 1970 super bee. 440 sixpack.
