If anyone needs Locktite, Advance Auto has a sale on it right now. Almost too good to be true. Normally $11.99 for the semi-solid stick. I just bought the red for $1.65 and the blue for $2.35.

The red is cheaper than the blue ?

Never heard of it in stick form until last week. I've got red and blue liquid. Was curious how much the sticks were and was shocked when I saw the price at Advance.

Or they are getting close to their shelf life. Here is how to read the manufactures code on the tubes.

There’s shelf life or an expiration date on locktite ?

When do they start that ?

I had tubes of locktite from the 70s (handed down from my grandpa) ! ....

... and I used that on a transmission and flexplate swap in 2010 or so !

Maybe I should have made my Fiberglass to SELF DESTRUCT in a couple of years also !

Doc, same here but I would bet that for mil spec or for any safety documentation like I would hate to have someone use a three decade old bottle of Loctite on the next airplane I fly on and then on top of it forget to safety wire something too. I'd bet the shelf life disclaimer is a CYA for Loctite.

On another note if you want to screw up someone's bottle of liquid Loctite thread locker just open the bottle cap, squeeze all or most of the air out of it and put the bottle cap back on tight while still squeezed...................................it will be hard a wedding night...........Richard in no time. tsk wink

One thing on the liquids most don't realize is if they've been stationary for awhile they should be shaken before using. I have used expired product and found it to work quite well when disassembling something I just put together. frown
As mentioned previously doing so on something like an airplane is asking for trouble IMO twocents beer

stick just seemed safer to hold onto for a while, so I got a multipack many years ago.
had to buy a second silver anti seize but the rest are only a little used.

My 4 year old grabbed it off the counter last night thinking it was chapstick. I stopped her before she got it open.
