Dump the old school plastic quad along with the tuning headaches, leaks, etc...I'm running one of these on my 87 360 Power Wagon, planning on getting another for my Daughter's 318 Poly in her 61 Fury... I went with the full aluminum body vs the composite I've heard great results with these. Very good performers.

And JustMoparJoe on Facebook had significant inventory of the revised original style a couple of weeks ago. And very fairly priced. Sorry no link for that.

A TQ will work really well as long as it’s not warped. Not sure why it’s voodoo science to so many. Having an original air door tool helps, but isn’t a deal breaker. I thought somebody was making new main bodies a few years back too. Did someone say THE NEW AND IMPROVED air door tool ? How is that "new and improved"? (What are we not seeing?) I looks like the yellow version (you?) sold years ago that have the flat stock "T" instead of a dowel and had knurling on the body.

I have lots of decisions to make on all three cars but if I go with new carb I am going to just go with the Demon. Thanks for input. If Y'all run E10 fuel I would find out if they changed the accelerator pump material , they make different ones for the regular Holley type carbs, like I said earlier the ethanol ruined the one I tried The 10% ethanol is probably why my Eddy is leaking

Larry, the current issue of Mopar Action has a good feature on the TQ. One of the claims is that the plastic isn't bothered by ethanol. Depending on where yours is leaking it could be the O-rings inside. Great thanks! I'll check it out.

Nice looking tools, Doc. I think I still have mine that I made years ago buried in my toolbox. I remember when I first started tinkering on TQs I made do with a couple of screwdrivers. Tim

I bought it and I’m going to study that article and learn everything I can about Thermoquads.

After reading Ehrenberg’s write up I just had to go with a TQ! It’s a Mopar thing and he convinced me how great of street performance carb they are. Here’s the part numbers he recommends (non emissions). I found me nice fresh rebuilt one for $275 on his list. I'll probably be using only E free gas from now on.

Beware of the mass rebuilt TQ's They disassemble a whole pile of them, and very rarely do any of the bases, bowl or top section go back on the same carb. Back when I used to hoard TQ's at swapmeets, I would not buy one that had the little rebuilder sticker on it-no matter how nice it looked.. Look for one that doesn't look like it has ever been apart before. Most of the time the virgin carbs-the 10 screws that hold it together, you can see that they haven't had a screwdriver in them. Most of the time the rebuilder didn't use a good screwdriver and the slots in the screws will be boogered up. Now you know the little TQ secret! X 99 ... also with mismatched rods and jets AND a boogered up air valve ... When I left my shop in Detroit ... I had about 15 boxes FULL of decent earlier TQ rebuildable cores
