My veteran and my hero. My dad at his MASH unit in Korea during the war. He wasn't a fan of the TV show at all. He said the reality was absolutely nothing like show, it was far worse...

My Dad served in WWII in the Pacific War as a medic. When he told stories of the GI's socks rotting on their feet.....or cutting a man's leg off with a bandage scissor after an artillery shell hit..... I am not ashamed to admit I am not half the man my father was. Truly the greatest generation.

it is almost impossible to PROPERLY thank our veterans, but we can try by a simple "Thank You for your Service", buying them a meal, a beer, or a cup of coffee.

My dad is a vet, My wife is a vet, my oldest daughter is a vet, all my son in laws are vets, I am a vet.

I come from a very long line of people that have served this country since the Revolutionary war.

My Dad was a Staff Sergeant in WWII First in Africa then in Italy (He was born in Italy) He was my Hero with his two brothers, my Uncles where born in Italy also.

I'm a navy corpsman veteran and was in a naval battle thank you!And appreciate what all the veterans have done!My father was in the national guard,my great uncle Carly fought the Nazis in WW II,and my uncle Bob and our pop Dom were marines,father in law was in the army as well as our uncle Uncle Gene was in Vietnamas well as our cousin who was river rat.And our great grandfather whos mia and whose ship was split in two in WW Ii.John and Ellie.

My dad in WW2 at Pearl Harbor, after the attack. He was a flight engineer on a Navy B-26. His most important war takeaway I learned. war is horrible.

Happy Veteran's Day to all the members on the forum here. I try and thank a veteran when I can as my dad was an army veteran, they keep our country free, and they do a job I know I can't do.

On a separate note, our town is honoring veterans by putting luminaries around town. Needless to say I bought one.

Thanks to all that have served past and present. One of my regrets in life was not serving after watching my youngest become a Marine, even though we had some uneasy months while he was deployed I am extremely proud of him. Doug

My Dad joined up in 42 stayed until 72.......Not a day goes by that I don't think about him.
My Brother and I went in the Army, he never could understand that.....LOL
I put a few years in, my Brother did 30 too.
He was 101st I was an 82nd guy.

Thanks to all our Vets, everyone had different jobs, but they were all important.

My dad was company commander for the 808th tank destroyer battalion in WWII, for Gen Patton. He had the biggest hands I've ever seen [size 19/20ring] and the most brutal tennis serve I've ever tried to return.

I was, on the other hand, an artilleryman in the USMC. No mention, here.
