Hi Folks,

Like a lot of Folks the World had changed for me and my good wife!
She got very unwell last year and we haven't left the house for 18 months...(good carbon footprint) drinking

I have a garage full of Moparts and a few Mopars too... thumbs
Been saving this stuff since the 80's for a 'rainy day' at the track DOH! (English humour)

Seems there is less and less tracks and GAS is at an all time HIGH!

But the KIDS are all angry at us OLD Folks for ruining the atmosphere with GAS Guzzlers... mad

So where do we stand??? argue

I haven't driven my road-car for two years and have NOT driven a Mopar for 15 years...

Its a long story but I always wanted to go 'back to the track' if there is ONE?

I've been restoring my 71 GTX for over twenty years as a road going Superstock kinda deal.
It seems most UK Mopars are ‘STREET-STRIPPERS' (that is the norm here).

So whats my point?

Am I OK to drive my Mopar on the road or will the 'ANGRY KIDS', mob me and burn my car, hopefully when I'm not in it... ozbbq

The goal is to demonize gas-powered vehicles and shame people for using them. Eventually, the governments will force folks into electric vehicles by driving gas prices to sky high levels. The current administration is pushing through a bill in Congress for climate change. More or less, $550 billion will go to tax incentives for businesses to cut their carbon footprint and a large subsidy ($12k) for Americans to purchase electric cars.

I don’t envision environmentalists burning your cars anytime soon. But, your prediction of a dystopian future is probably not that far off.
When gas jumps to $10-$15 a gallon, it might be time to start producing alcohol in your backyard.

If China/CCP floods the United States with cheap electric cars (like they’re doing with solar panels), that will probably be the game changer.

China is the enemy.

Thanx for the reply.

I’m OKAY with electric and would even like an electric Classic too.

But the problem is the angry folks seeing an American car as “the enemy”...

I have been a lifelong engineer and lover of the V8 engine, especially Mopar.
Can’t see me being so excited with an electric ‘hemi motor’... fan

Not such a big problem for you guys over there in America lol...

I am not sure that those of us here in the States are qualified to comment on attitudes in other parts of the world. And I guess there are places over here where you couldn't drive a muscle car without the possibility of a hassle, but they are still welcome in most places. As to the thought of violence towards our cars, they had sure as heck better expect violence as a defense.

it is kind of ironic "youngsters" raisehell about ICE and "old, stinky muscle cars", yet most just love the "road warrior" movies.
