Thats a cool looking project. We are busy converting a show car to a racecar.

Not really build plans, but I'll be playing the waiting game on my INDY block 563ci engine. I ordered a Clutchless Liberty 4 speed 5 weeks ago, and was told 6-8 weeks. The car will need some floor pan modifications to make it fit. have to change the rear gear in the car from 4.88's to either 4.56 of 4.30.
I'm in absolute zero rush though... I have more vacation plans for 2022, than I've ever had before, and looking forward to that more than anything else.

picking away on her car. 1980 Volare wagon with a 408 / 727. hyd. flat tappet and 10:1 , it made a nice 492 and 492 on the pump this past August. Cal tracs , 9" with a 3.5 cog for cruising and 4.11 for play dates. Getting enough tire is going to be a problem...........there isn't nearly as much room as the coupes have. I don't want to do a ton of cutting , so a 9 " slick may be it. Tying the sub frames and new interior are all I have planned , but plans have a strange way of getting out of control in my garage. It is slated to be a street car , with a.c. and tunes. If I don't forget that simple guideline , I should have it on the strasse next spring. Love the early Cuda. You will be definitely one of the few kids on the block who will be rolling one.

Not much I just completed a mad thrash to get my car ready for some late season index racing after my 408 suffered a cracked crank. I recently put my lower compression ( 11.5 to 1 to 10.0 to 1 ) and freshened 367 back in a few weeks ago. Winter plans are: get the quarter panel fixed where it was " hit and ran " while sitting outside my trailer at the track, replace a bent strut rod and get an alignment , and get rid of the TTI headers and go back to Tubular Automotive headers ( if they can get tubing to make them, when I called they told me they have been waiting a long time for 1 7/8 tubing ) possibly a gear change from 4.30s to 4.88s. Decide if I am going to fix my 408 or sell it, it has good parts: R3 block and Indy 360-1 heads it appears to only need a crank and new main bearings with no other damage either part it out , sell whole or keep it and fix it , I haven't decided.

I have a plate kit on the shelf ready to go, along with a NOS mini progressive and an MSD 2 stage timing retard module to install, along with tossing in a driveshaft loop. I also need to redo the trunk a bit and if I'm really ambitious I might pull the HVAC box and make a blockoff plate for it. Really only a weekends worth of work but it's already cold and miserable outside so motivation is low, lol
Should be solid mid 11's next spring and I'll be content with it at least before running it in one of the drag and drive events as long as my work schedule doesn't hose me.

I'm busy already. Since breaking the motor in May the racing season was slow. Borrowed cars for a few races. Ran my street car, but broke the converter. Since it took so long to get parts I decided to get some minor bumps and bruises repaired on the body. Along with getting the new carbon hood and scoop painted. As always my buddy Ted did an over top job. That's all done. The trailer needed some work. Decided to rub and wax it first time ever since it was new in 2003. Pulled the screws out figuring it would make it a nicer finish.. Got about 75% done since then the weather hasn't cooperated. It also had some water leaks that delaminated the ceiling panels. Cleaned and resealed the roof. Still had a few slow leaks. Had my granddaughter blow compressed air at the suspect areas while I sprayed soap water on the outside. Bubbles showed the leaks. Sealed them and started fitting new panels. That should be done tomorrow. Machine work is nearly done so the motor will start going back together shortly. Heads, block, and oil pan had to welded up. New crank, rods, pistons, springs. Pistons are being gas ported by my friend. NMCA nixed the billet carb main bodies. So cast replacements are on order. Hopefully everything holds together in the spring and it'll finally produce a 8 second slip. doug

Mines not as cool as any of ya'lls but I am planning to do another superduper MPG build on a pristine 92 318 Dakota. Instead of like most of my projects where I do a single or a few upgrades this should be a pretty serious build with tons of improvements.

MY CAR - although it’s never really winter here. Re-position Kirkey seat(s) AGAIN. Order new current cam-lock harness belt Install new rear gear Install new bolt-together converter Install new PST Carbon Driveshaft Install new engine belly pan Cage cert Sort out nitrous system Maybe add sliders (most likely not for now) Remove a little more weight Scale car Get my license again (Ugh) Reacquaint myself with the MSD GRID & Racepak Reacquaint myself to making some hits on a track somewhere (Jan+)
SONS CAR Finish buying a few more engine parts Get to chassis shop for some minor work/updates Get the motor built Continue to work on everything through ‘22 and hopefully we’ll make passes next fall.

Revalve the rear coilovers, that’s it for the drag car. My 36 year old Shoverolet, on the other, needs a headliner and all new window run channels and weatherstrips. That’ll have to wait until spring, as I don’t have a big enough garage, especially considering Minnesota winters. I can start stock piling parts, though.

I had 6 pallets of of Dodge R5/P7 engine parts shipped from Indianapolis in July. After a long sea voyage over the pond, they should be arriving next week. My plan is to get a couple of engines together in the new year, and finally make a start on the car.
