The left front, looks to be a never run tire, I think I can see printing in the tread area, so probably the spare.

I certainly don't know, was a full size spare available, was the space saver an option, and if I had an original tire one of the first things I would do is stop rolling it around to try and keep the printing visible.

On that same note, I can't remember when it was that the tire shortage was, and cars were shipped without spares, and spare tires were left up to the dealer to find, but it strikes me it was in the early 70s.

It takes gasoline to interest me.

12:46 was his 1st offer.

I figured if he brought cash, he'd offer that.

Anything over $32k is too much IMHO for an EL5 340-auto car that needs at min., front valance, trunklid, quarter patches, re-paint, full interior.

It appears that he’s carrying $50k & he pulls out $5k when handing the cash to the seller. So, the general consensus is: he paid $45k. Definitely not a bargain. But, when the 1971 Hemi ‘Cuda is the most valuable muscle car on the planet, it does trickle down. He has a YT with 800K subscribers - the purchase price really doesn’t matter because it’s about driving views and making YT money.

That was what I thought as,well 45K.
That's why I asked why it was mentioned sold at 35K
Still richer than I think needs total rebuild is worth even at 35. But bet it is just not to me.

My friend just sold one for $47,500. It was a 340 4 speed shaker car,but it needed more metal work than the one in this thread.

Im sure someone will pay over retail for the car , just so they can say whom they bought it from .
But, even at that .

Whats that car worth as is but running and some what driveable. ??? Options will help, color hurts it big time to most ,,,,,, IMO

I would think upper $30s as is would tops ?????

What annoyed me most about that YT video, was Rawlings constantly running his hands through his hair. The guy has an obession with doing that...he probably doesn;t even realize he is always doing it. laugh2

I guess I am stupid or just getting old. But if I had that kind of cash to waste I would take a car like that and not restore it. Do the trunk floor and extensions rear floors as needed. Redo the brakes steering all rubber hoses et. You know the drill. If motor / trans is fine just tune up, gaskets, exhaust, radiator, again what is needed. Maybe it does not need drive line rebuild maybe it does.
And just like it was me in 1980 with a used muscle car back then. Do what it needs nothing more.
Not every thing needs to be restored be fun to beat on it, park it and not worry about a scratch etc.
If course it may have other needs that come up. Down the road if it needs say motor and trans rebuild do it and leave the rest as is.
Life is short have a ball with it and when I am gone let the Resto be someone else's thing.
You can't tell me it would not be fun.
Only down side would be guys wanting it for a,song so they can fix it up bothering you always.
Paintless dent guy could get it good enough to make me happy.
And it would drive half the Mopar guys nuts too.

I have started going in this direction with a lot of my cars. It's more fun to drive them and not worry about anything happening to them that would give me a heart attack or make me have to exterminate anyone who damages them.

I loved the part where Boyd';s trophy wife was crying too.....yeah nothing going on there...

Lol you are correct, I remember watching that episode when Charlie was living with Boyd and his wife. He was going to work for Chip Foose, and Boyd's wife crying, first thing I though was boy what's going on there?

Wow that is spot on what I came by to say. Exactly how I feel. Biggest issue is the wanna be dealers at every corner, following you home, etc. I have passed on several cars I thought would be fun just because of that. Drive a shiny car and you don’t get a bunch of new “buddies.”

I saw the thread and decided to go have a look see at the video. That one owner car appeared to be flipped by the second(?) owner to the now third owner for 45k. I think if the numbers match for sure, it redlines at 40k. Much more reasonable to restore at a low 30s price, that one will end up needing a lot of stuff. Likely to laungish somewhere as a guy that should’ve saved up more to get a done car tries to figure out how to pull it together without getting divorced. People are paying outrageous money right now for clapped out cars.

An update of sorts, mopars5150 out in California ended up buying this car off of Richard. There's a video on mopars5150 Instagram account that shows the car running, it sounds GOOD. It looks like all the Monkeys did was clean it and get it running. The car was sold new in California, so in a way its going home. So, as of right now, no LS swap or air bags, its going to a proper home.
