Anyone aware of an OEM 1 wire high amp alternator with a serpentine belt pulley? Looking to add additional charging for my RV rig and wouuld prefer OEM application for easy replacement if needed on the road. Thanks

OEMs don't use one wire alternators so you'll need to go aftermarket.

And if it doesn't come with a serpentine pulley, they're readily available from any shop that rebuilds alternators and starters - they usually have a crate full that they've taken off scrap units.

Thank you Andy, and forgive my ignorance. I guess what I really need is one that has an internal regulator to keep the wiring simple.

Good idea about the pulley. Will come in handy if I need to change pulley ratios.

Well are you prepared to build your own brackets? There aren't any bolt on high amp internally regulated kits for big block engines. If you have a small block you might be able to adapt a late model high amp alternator but they don't use serpentine belts. I don't think what you are asking for exists although it could be fabricated by a good shop. I build low mount kits that hang a 90 amp Toyota alternator on a big block. This is the same kit that I use on my '65 Coronet and it works great but it isn't exactly what you are looking for.

I have a car in my shop right now that is getting some updates. One item I just installed was a low mount CS130 alternator with a serpentine belt. The CS130 is a very popular alternator that GM used for many years. They'll bolt on to a big block mopar with the correct brackets but there isn't really kit to do this swap. 440Source sells some parts but it isn't designed around a "store bought" alternator.

I really don't think you need more than a 70 amp Denso alternator. They charge 14.5 volts at idle and are internally regulated so there is one less component to fail. Wiring is easy with the plug from AR Engineering . Now I see Speedway sells a mini Denso unit that has 90 amps and is a one wire deal but I'm not so sure that is the ideal set-up just because I like to have the sense wire on the heavy load.

32 years as a Toyota tech and I have seen very few fail so I see it as a non issue. I've seen brushes, stators, rectifiers, and commutators wear down to the shaft but the regulators maybe replaced 5 in my entire career shruggy

I've replaced one regulator since 1988 in my Mopars and it was an old mechanical style one in my 64 300. So it's a non-issue for me. In fact the only time I ever had a problem with a Mopar style alternator was when I bought a chrome one at a swap meet in San Diego. Turns out one of the windings was poorly soldered, fixed it, still have it, 30+ years later. Another non-issue. The only reasonable reason to use a one wire is to slightly clean up the wiring harness. I prefer parts I can get at a parts store, which a one wire isn't. Note this is NOT the same as running the Denso with an internal regulator as those are NOT one wires.

The 60 or 90 amp Denso alternators that I use on my conversions can be installed with 2 wires but 3 is what is recommended. Charge wire, turn on wire and sense wire. If the car has been rewired and has a good harness then the turn on and the sense can both be connected to the same 12 volt source. I usually run wires to each so I do a 3 wire install.

I haven't looked in my Denso catalog but I would assume that there is an off the shelf Denso alternator which is internally regulated, high output and has a pulley for a serpentine belt. It sounds like that is what the OP wants. Once the OP finds an alternator he likes then he'll need to fabricate a bracket system to hold it in the correct location.

Here is the 90 amp Denso that I used on my '65 Coronet. This alternator came off of a Toyota Land Cruiser.

I will be using it to charge a bank of 4 1000 amp batteries in my motorhome. I will be boondocking and hope to be able to charge them from 50% to 90% or so while travelling from one place to the next. Also the motorhome does not have dash a/c only rooftop, so power while on the road will have to come from either the battery bank or I will have to run a generator while going down the highway. Not really too keen on the second option.

I did find this website with some good info for anyone that may be interested in doing something similar. Lots of good info.
